Bermuda[edit]
The article repeats some of the lurid, anacdotal accounts of "Black Sunday" (without any attribution). In fact, only five Skuas were involved. Two went into the ship's Island, One Skua ended up in the water, one had its hook torn off but managed to crash-land on the golf course and one landed safely. Two Fulmars were also aloft at the time but both managed to land safely because of their stronger arrestor hooks. No casualties were involved. The events happened on Sunday, July 7th 1940. All the 4 damaged aircraft were recovered with some being returned to service. HMS Illustrious continued her training routine before setting off back to the Clyde on the 17th July.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.174.138.112 (talk) 10:59, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
