Metalic?[edit]

3554 Amun was presumed to be metallic based on its M-type spectra. However, many recent observations indicate that the majority of M-types are not metallic. This is discussed in the M-type asteroids article. In the case of Amun, observations by Steven Ostro and other members of the Asteroid Radar Group at JPL indicate that the surface density is less than 2 g/cm^3. This is so low that the object cannot be metallic. It is probably hydrated silicate in composition, but we have no data. Michaelbusch 03:18, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

External reference requires unspecified user id password[edit]

The link to www.matter-antimatter.com requires a login yet there is no way to acquire one publicly. I do not know what the Wiki policy is on such matters, but it seems it is pointless to offer an external link that requires an unattainable login identification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.167.199.122 (talk) 19:14, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I replaced the warbly link to the space com article that anyhow was on one completely different subject (http://www.space.com/adastra/070802_adastra_spacesettlement.html), with a page that have one breakdown on the possible metal value of asteroid 3554 Amun. You have the link above to change back if you like but I think the one I added is more relevant. *Cheers*
