Name Change to "2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers–New England Patriots game"[edit]

I do think this game is notable enough to warrant its own page, but I don't think it is the appropriate title, as there are no official sources that call it Tom Brady's Return. I think it would be better off to change the page name to 2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers–New England Patriots game, similar to the 2007 New England Patriots–New York Giants game which highlighted the Patriots capping off their undefeated season, or the 2018 Kansas City Chiefs–Los Angeles Rams game where over 1000 total yards were gained. NBC marketed the game as "The Return", but that was a very generic marketing name. I chose this name as Google Search returns articles for this game under "Tom Brady return" and I believe a lot of sources do refer to this as "Brady's return to New England" or something along the lines. While I see where you're going with the rename and would understand if it's changed, my preference would be to keep the page named as is. --WuTang94 (talk) 20:06, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I guess my biggest objection to the rename to "2021 Bucs-Pats game" is that it would be somewhat vague and that readers wouldn't get the context of why this game was noteworthy. @WuTang94: If you can link some sources where it is officially called "Tom Brady's Return", then that validate the page even further. Flowerkiller1692 I gradually drew back my opposition to renaming "2018 NFC Championship Game" to "NOLA No-Call", as that page eventually focused on the game as a whole rather than the eponymous play. However, I stand by keeping this as "Tom Brady's return" though: just Google it, and you'll find several sources that refer to this particular game as "Tom Brady's return", "Return to New England", "Tom Brady's return to New England", etc.:

P.S. I see nothing wrong with a descriptor. Wouldn't "2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers–New England Patriots game" also technically be a descriptor? Food for thought..
I was referring to the fact that there is no official moniker for the game. The sources you sent were more describing the circumstances of the game itself; no source officially called the game "Tom Brady's return". In contrast, there are several sources that call the 2018 championship game as the "NOLA No-Call", specifically that particular play. And another issue I have with the name too: what's to prevent the NFL from scheduling another of Brady's return to Foxborough before he retires due to this new 17-game season format? How will that affect the name of this page? But since we are unable to come to an agreement, perhaps a request to move the page would be the best decision. For sure. I mean no harm, and really appreciate your work on this page to keep it up to snuff with similar pages on NFL games. If anything, I'd be willing to help with the introduction paragraphs to reflect how this game doesn't have an official name. Already working on the page for the 2018 Kansas City Chiefs–Los Angeles Rams game, which also doesn't officially have a name.   • Oppose: I'll likely die on this hill, but as stated in the above conversation, I do think that the title "Tom Brady's return" is more searchable on the internet, and that the sources I listed above, which can be found by searching those words, do call the game by some variation, such as "Brady's return to New England". NBC Sports also marketed this game as "The Return", which was the page's original title, but somewhat vague in context (in addition to ignoring other returns such as Brett Favre's first return to Green Bay in 2009 or Peyton Manning's return to Indianapolis in 2013). I would, however, be open to changing the page's names to one of those monikers, and if the vast majority of users prefer one name, I'll roll with it.--WuTang94 (talk) 04:26, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support The moniker "The Return" was only used in NBC marketing leading up to the game. The name has not really gained much traction elsewhere. It would not be improper, however, to at least mention that the game was dubbed "The Return" somewhere in the prose. Changing the main image[edit]

I still haven't figured out how images work on Wikipedia. But is there a way that we can change the main image to one where Brady embraces Belihcick after the game? Would give better visual context as to what the importance of the game is.
