Removing names vs. New Section[edit]

I think it makes more sense to move the names of those who declare for the draft but return to the NCAA to a new section than to delete them entirely. Agree/disagree?--TM 01:16, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. The main point is ultimately about the draft itself, not the guys who almost declare but don’t. The early entry declares are the story right now, but only because the main event hasn’t happened yet. Rikster2 (talk) 03:47, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree We can mention it on the players pages, but there is no need to clog up space on this page if they return. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 19:53, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree Like the other two mentioned before me, we don't mention guys that entered the NBA Draft and backed out when they did. Some of these players would enter the NBA Draft in a later year anyways, either via another declaration or graduation from a university (or in international players' cases, when they turn 22 years of age at the time of the event). At best, we just mention those moments in that player's page, assuming they're relevant enough (for one reason or another) to have said page in the first place. – AGreatPhoenixSunsFan (talk) 00:26, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Mitchell Robinson School[edit]

I believe the NBA's official stance on Mitchell Robinson is that he is from Western Kentucky, not his high school. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:3003:3206:8500:CD64:6243:2AD9:A2F9 (talk) 14:43, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

When the assistant commish announced him he just said the city he was from. See the video. Rikster2 (talk) 14:53, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting[edit]

@Rikster2:, I undid your edits of June 26. Tables need to have "scope" for the row and column headers, per MOS:ACCESS. Since it produces a light grey cell, maybe {{NBA Draft Legend}} should use a different color than dark grey for that parameter. Also, it seems silly to have every person coded as not having played in the NBA before there's even a single NBA game to play in, no? – Muboshgu (talk) 21:20, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, a similiar problem would exist even after the 1st day of season, even though a lot would have played their first game. Looking at NBA MVP, they seem to just override the scope color to a different color.—Bagumba (talk) 01:01, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
just pick a different color - but realize that every NBa draft page uses the same coding. And no, it isn’t silly because as the season starts we remove the coding for the specific player. It is accurate that no one has played a game. Rikster2 (talk) 02:23, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I reinstated the legend parameter that a player hasn’t appeared in an NBA game. It only doesn’t make sense on this one because the season hasn’t started. Look at 2017 of any other draft year to see how this will look a week into the season. Rikster2 (talk) 02:27, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
