Kit colours[edit]

Hi Macosal,

If you have a problem with the kit colours not being close enough to the current colours, kindly update it and don't just remove them.

Thank you, --SuperJew (talk) 12:29, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Will do - but that can take a fair bit of time/effort. I'm also afraid that without the palm tree which has drawn so much attention to the new kit, the kit will be but a pale imitation of its real-world counterpart - so much so that I'm not sure it's worth having one that is incorrect. Unfortunately I don't think I have the technological nous to add the (in)famous tree as a kit template, but might give it a shot in the next couple of days. North Shore Mariners friendly[edit]

I can find references for this game. Did it really happen? What was the score? If no one knows should we just remove it? --SuperJew (talk) 07:08, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It did happen (it was a training match). I haven't seen any official sources report on it, however, but there was some mention of it on social media/forums (I think CCM won by a few). It's a valid question though - do these "training games" which aren't officially reported on by the club technically count as matches? I'm unsure - more often than not there is little official reporting of such games as they are played behind closed doors. The Mariners v. Jets game at the start of pre-season is a good example of what I mean (no official release from either club, only vague details known). Interested to see what others think on this. I feel like the whole friendlies issue in general is a bit vague? In club football it is often not clear if it is an "official" friendly or just a "training" match. In general though I feel comfortable leaving matches in if we have a source for the result and score, and preferably goals. In a case where one only knows "I think CCM won by a few" I think we can remove it. --SuperJew (talk) 08:25, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Get what your saying, but most "official" friendlies will have crowds, and at the very least the result will be publicized by the club. In the event such as this, where the club has clearly not divulged any media on the subject, I think it would better be classified as a "training match" than a friendly and left off this list for that reason. Sounds to me like a good rule of thumb then that if we have a source/report to keep, if not delete. --SuperJew (talk) 09:01, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also fun fact: North Shore Mariners' FB page only had a score update (2-0) at half time. Also they called it a training match. --SuperJew (talk) 09:06, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mitch Austin[edit]

Since Austin was born in England and has not represented a national team on any level, shouldn't his default FIFA nationality be English? --SuperJew (talk) 18:12, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not so sure - he's an Australian citizen as well and is playing as a non-visa (i.e. Australian) player. I haven't seen anything suggesting that date of birth is determinative in such cases? Macosal (talk) 00:07, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
