Notability[edit]

This appears to be the second-deadliest rail accident of 2014 so far, and there are sources present referring to international news coverage. I don't understand why the notability would be in question when compared against other covered rail accidents, so I'm removing the tag. RQA (talk) 12:15, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks RQA for your support to save this article. Yes I was too wondering the same thing as yours. Ashish Lohorung (talk) 13:27, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Notability is not established in comparison with other articles. It should be established using the criteria in WP:EVENT:
  • lasting effects: no sign of that.
  • significant impact over a wide region: not established.
  • significant or in-depth coverage: yes, alright.
  • coverage beyond a relatively short news cycle: all sources are from 26–27 May.
  • significant national or international coverage: yes.
From what I see in the sources, this was major news, but Wikipedia is not the news. The article should really be expanded to show why this event is important, and not yet another train crash. QVVERTYVS (hm?) 13:35, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
