it read 37 (XXXVII) instead of 29 (XXIX)

since the 2001 entry is 30 (XXX)and 1999 says 28 (XXVIII) this is a logical change

      • I don't mean that it needs a citation in the infobox; I mean thatthe fact that the race was 71 laps, and that the 71 laps totaled ~206km/191 miles, is only mentioned in the infobox and lead, not in the body.

  • had a large amount of elevation — Meaning lots of elevation changes?
  • of the Williams — Should this be just "of Williams"? And since it is the first time it is mentioned, any reason to not use the full name?

  • What's a "hoarding"?
  • Häkkinen went fastest with 15 minutes — So right before the heavy rain started?
  • Barrichello in fourth was slower than the McLaren cars in the second sector and lost time due to the stoppage — What is the second sector? And wouldn't everyone have lost time due to the stoppage, not just him?
  • Pedro Diniz slowed him — How?
  • How many drivers participate in each timed lap? I had thought they were done individually, but apparently not.

        • Wurz had to take the spare car because his previous one stalled. It is not stated in any of the sources that Wurz had the spare Benetton car setup for him after it was setup for Fisichella, so I have removed that piece of information. MWright96 (talk) 07:53, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
          • Got it. My confusion here was that I was reading the sentence to mean "after Wurz took the spare car, it was set up for Fisichella," rather than "Wurz took the spare car, which had previously been set up for Fisichella."

  • Wurz began from the pit lane — Meaning he was getting his car fixed while the race started? Ouch.
  • He retained third as Barrichello made a slow getaway — Who retained third? Barrichello made a slow getaway from who/what?
  • He then made a driver error — What was the error?
  • lost the use of the first three gears — How?
  • Barrichello drew close to Häkkinen after the latter made a driver error — What error?
  • under braking the Senna S chicane to start the 15th lap — What does under braking mean?
Post-race
  • yearned — Is this really the right word?
  • filed a successful appeal — What were they appealing? Apparently the excessive wear was a problem, but it isn't clear why.

      • My question is what they were appealing; did the sanctioning body say something like "there's too much wear on the boards; that's a violation of XYZ regulation; and therefore you're disqualified," and the drivers appealed that disqualification? Or something else.

      • Got it, thanks for clarifying. I take it the ‡ has some sort of benefit beyond just being a symbol that can be seen? Otherwise, it would be duplicative since it only appears directly next to points totals, the existence of which it is intended to indicate.
