Untitled[edit]

Reckon the name should be changed. There are dozens of "bus massacres" and attacks on buses throughout the 20th century, several of them worse than this, so this title should be focused on this particular incident maybe with the alternate name suggested in the intro. I'd do it now, but I don't want to step on anyones toes--Jackyd101 22:25, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But those other massacres are probably not widely known by that name, like this is. FunkMonk (talk) 17:52, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
On second thoughts, bus massacres seem to be happening a lot in various places, and the title is extremely generic. Maybe Ain el-Rammaneh bus massacre? FunkMonk (talk) 18:43, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the moving of the page, it should be moved to something like "Lebanon Bus Massacre" or "Lebanese Bus Massacre". ReaIdiot (talk) 04:26, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Incredible bias[edit]

The bus massacre is "commonly presented as the spark that set off the Lebanese Civil War."
How can that be when the bus massacre was in retaliation for the drive-by shooting at the church in Ayn el-Rummaneh. Surely it is the CHURCH MASSACRE that should be presented as the spark that set off the Lebanese Civil War, should it not?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.68.95.65 (talk) 21:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The event your talking about was just before the Ain-el-Rammaneh Incident. Within hours of the bus massacre PLO and Kataeb Goverment Forces were fighting full scale battles A.H.T Videomapping (talk) 00:21, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing[edit]

The "controversy" section is terribly undersourced. The bit suggesting that the SSNP was responsible for the church drive-by rather than the PFLP isn't footnoted at all. This seems inappropriate to me.173.79.208.33 (talk) 19:36, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change[edit]

The name “Bus Massacre” is to broad for a single event that happened in Beirut. I feel like the name “Beirut Bus Massacre” or the “Ain-el-Rammaneh Incident” would be a better name A.H.T Videomapping (talk) 00:19, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree it should be moved to "Lebanon/Lebanese Bus Massacre", but "Beirut Bus Massacre" is good because it is more specific. ReaIdiot (talk) 04:27, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bus massacre1975 Beirut bus massacre – I believe the page should be moved because bus massacres happen all the time (scroll down after clicking this link), and you'll see my point) this page should be moved to "Beirut bus massacre", but "Bus massacre" will redirect here, there will be a {redirect} template to a new page called "Bus massacre (disambiguation)".ReaIdiot (talk) 16:51, 9 June 2021 (UTC) ==[reply]

"Bus massacre" would redirect here, but when the article for "Bus attack" is finished (see this draft) the redirect will be changed. ReaIdiot (talk) 04:09, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot about that, I changed the proposed title. ReaIdiot (talk) 16:05, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I changed the proposed title ReaIdiot (talk) 17:37, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
