I will review this one, being familiar with Michael work here. Secret account 21:04, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • "The Hammond Pros, who were named the Hammond All-Stars, finished 4–2–3 in their 1919 season as an independent team." Why the rename?
  • Why they were a "traveling team", it should be at least mentioned somewhere in the text.
  • One thing I never really understood, why were teams like the Pros were allowed to play "non-APFA" teams, any background information on this, and why the few games. I mentioned it with another GA review of yours regarding the schedule, but never with non-APFA teams. I guess I never figured it out because I reviewed some of the bigger squads of the season and not smaller teams like this.
  • "Back Fred Chicken scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown; back Ray Kuehl scored two touchdowns: a 5-yard rushing touchdown and a 35-yard receiving touchdown from back Pudge Wyman; and back Gerald Mansfield caught a 20-yard receiving touchdown from Wyman." Trim some redudancy, and clarify the "back" with those players. I presume Wyman was the quarterback, was the rest halfbacks or ends?
  • "Hammond started to purposely injure their opponents during the game." Why?
  • "The Dayton Triangles were the Pros' next opponent. Once again, the Pros did not score a point."
  • "After two losses, the Pros decided to not schedule a game in week five and challenge a non-APFA team in week six." Why they didn't schedule a game, I guess it is a teams choice in the league whether to play a complete schedule or not?
    • Yep. The league's bylaws did not have a set schedule and let the team's create their own.

  • Their next opponent, the Logan Squares, were on a two-game winning streak.[15] At least a link to where Logan is located is appropriate.
  • Nothing more from that Logan game?
    • Not that I can find. The only source cites the Hammond Times, and I can't get a free copy. I also searched Google Books and similar places, but nothing turned up.

  • "The score would stay 6–0 Smeltzer of the Elks caught a pass from Leverette in the fourth quarter." Missing word here
  • "This touchdown was Lanum's only score of the entire 1920 season." Sounds like trivia, considering he was a member of the Stanleys remove.
  • "have the game 14–0 going into halftime" You mean 21-0.
  • Any numbers less than 10, unless it's part of the score should be alphabetized per MOS, like "These 7 points from the Pros"..
  • "the team would fold two years after that." Grammar
  • Did any players at least reached second or third team?
  • Combine references and notes, same thing, MOS violation in having two different footnotes section unless there is a need, which I don't see.

Sourcing is reliable, see Talk:1920 Akron Pros season/GA1 for more explanation, no close paraphrasing concerns that I note, any images?
