1500 Air Transport Wing[edit]

This article confuses three different units. The 1502d Air Transport Wing is not the 1500th Air Transport Wing and neither is the 531st Air Transport Group. The confusion probably stems from the transfers of host responsibility for Hickam AFB among Pacific Air Command, Military Air Transport Service, and Far East Air Forces in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Due to this I have reassessed.--Lineagegeek (talk) 22:17, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A separate article has been created for the 1500th ATW and appropriate materials transferred there. Article history with respect to events prior to 1955 that was first entered here remains with this article. To represent the continuous airlift capability MATS had at Hickam from 1948-1966, details concerning the 531st Air Transport Group (later the 1500th Air Transport Group, 1502d Air Transport Group) is retained in both articles. --Lineagegeek (talk) 17:06, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
