Redundant sometime

The current text includes was placed ... sometime during the evening. I removed sometime. It was reinserted with the motivation that is needed to signal that we are unsure about when in the evening it happened. That argument is not valid. Sometime in the evening and in the evening refers to the same time interval. There is no need to say that we do not have more precise information than the information we are providing. --Ettrig (talk) 15:00, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Well, as I tried to explain in the edit summary when I restored the word, "the 'sometime' here isn't redundant, it means 'at an unknown time' and explains why we don't say 'at 8:30 in the evening' - we don't know". Without the "sometime" the reader may wonder why a more precise time was not given. Thus, in the context of the description of the bombing, the word does impart information, the fact of uncertainty. I see that you have undertaken a broad campaign against the phrase "sometime during" but in this case it seems to help, not hurt, the article. The time I have available for debate is limited, would you be willing to let a WP:3O settle this? --CliffC (talk) 18:45, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
That does not seem to be an acceptable solution. Before making a request here, be sure that the issue has been thoroughly discussed on the article talk page. the reader may wonder why a more precise time was not given This is true. But it does not mean there is something wrong with the statement. I wrote above that both versions place the action within the same period of time. The argument above is that it is good to reassure the reader that the reason we are not providing more narrow time constraints is that we are not able to. This need does not exist. The objective of Wikipedia is to provide information about the world as well as we can. This is a given background that is always there. It does not need to be repeated here and there in the articles. No motivation has been given for why the reader should be especially doubtful about our efforts in this particular case. --Ettrig (talk) 20:52, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
I tried Wikipedia:Reference desk/Language. --Ettrig (talk) 05:30, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Two answers, both in favor of keeping sometime. --Ettrig (talk) 12:03, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Fine, I'll consider that a WP:3O. --CliffC (talk) 14:15, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Placing

Google Maps places this building (both by name and address) between Cedar and Pine, not Liberty and Cedar. I don't know how to add the image. --181.47.159.236 (talk) 22:48, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
