Sphincterochila is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Sphincterochilidae.[2]

Sphincterochila is the type genus of the family Sphincterochilidae.[3]

Species in the genus Sphincterochila are arid-adapted (adapted to living in very dry conditions).
