Sheroes is a 2023 American action adventure film written and directed by Jordan Gertner and starring Sasha Luss, Wallis Day, Isabelle Fuhrman and Skai Jackson.[1][2] It is Gertner's feature directorial debut.[3]

Plot[edit]

While on vacation in Thailand, friends Diamond, Ezra, Ryder and Daisy are accidentally mixed up with a drug cartel as they get ahold of a cocaine shipment. After Daisy is kidnapped by the cartel to get the shipment back, her friends set out to rescue her, no matter the danger.

Cast[edit]

Production[edit]

In January 2022, it was announced that Fuhrman was cast in the film.[4] In March 2022, it was announced that Paramount Worldwide Acquisition Group acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the film and that filming wrapped in Thailand.[5] According to Gertner, "The script had been written for actually another location, and a group of people I was working with suggested Thailand..."[6]

Release[edit]

The film was released in select theaters and on digital on June 23, 2023.[7][8][9][10]

Reception[edit]

The film has a 40% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on five reviews.[11] Carla Renata of RogerEbert.com awarded the film two stars.[12] Tara McNamara of Common Sense Media awarded the film one star out of five.[13]

Jon Mendelsohn of Comic Book Resources gave the film a positive review and wrote, "Sheroes has committed performers and a frenetic style, but the story is derivative and goes nowhere fast."[14]
