Robert Hickey (born 12 January 1974) is a New Zealand basketball player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 2000 Summer Olympics.[1] He played for the Otago Nuggets at the time of his selection for the Olympic squad.[2] In 2002, he signed for the Hawke's Bay Hawks.[3] He was a member of the 2002 New Zealand Tall Blacks team that finished 4th at the 2002 FIBA World Cup. He retired from international basketball in 2003 after representing New Zealand more than 50 times.[4] He grew up in Cambridge New Zealand and attended high school at St John’s College in Hamilton. In 2003 he moved to Melbourne Australia, is married with 2 children.
