This diagram seems to forget that the principle of a peatland is to produce… peat and that it acts as, and I cite the relevant article, the most efficient carbon sink on the planet. To be complete, this diagram should show an arrow, and a layer, for the part of the carbon that is not cycled but sequesterd instead.

Additionally, the arrows should comprise numbers showing what proportion of what goes where.

CH2?[edit]

CH2 is depicted as a product in the reaction leading to the production of CH4. If CH2 is formed as an intermediate in the formation of CH4, perhaps it would be helpful to also give the subsequent reaction(s). 2600:6C56:7400:2FDB:7D50:A9E1:AE0A:6043 (talk) 03:00, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
