The Lightyear 2 is a solar-powered plug-in battery electric car from Lightyear. The Lightyear 2 is to be the affordable mass market EV from Lightyear, following the halo model Lightyear 0. After bankruptcy proceedings in 2022, the Lightyear 2 replaced the Lightyear 0 as the initial launch model.[1]

Pricing and availability[edit]

As of 2023, the Lightyear 2, is slated to be US$40,000 and available in both Europe and the U.S., with production expected to start by the end of 2025.[2]
