The category should not really exist. All actual Assamese should be moved to Category:Assamese people while those who are not Assamese should be moved to respective cats like Category:Bengali people, Category:Tripuris and the like.Bakaman Bakatalk 01:28, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree. This category is based on the state-wise categorization of India. Ethnic categorization is a sensitive and separate issue. What if we decided to categorize people according to their castes? Chaipau 15:49, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sub Category on Ahom Dynasty?[edit]

What do people think about a sub category here for people related to the Ahom Dynasty? The main category may be kept cleaner as well as specific information easier to find if sub categories were used judiciously. -Deepraj | Talk 09:14, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
