Title of this category[edit]

Category:Defunct buildings and structures in Manhattan is an awkward title. Companies are defunct, not buildings and structures. Buildings are demolished. This category includes both important structures in Manhattan that were demolished and replaced with other buildings along with companies or stores that went out of business. It seems like it should only contain the former and not the latter as a retail store like Coliseum Books is a business, not a building. The building still exists, it just houses another tenant.

So, I propose to change this category into two: Category:Demolished buildings and structures in Manhattan and Category:Defunct businesses in Manhattan. Liz Read! Talk! 15:28, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

Following the speedy renaming of Category:Defunct buildings and structures in Watertown, New York. I want to rename this because of the companies are defunct not buildings and structures 112.200.12.134 (talk) 14:15, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
