How can we change this page into a real article? I could write something along these lines, which others would then flesh out: 1. Rationale for Catholic boarding schools (Church teaching, parental demand) 2. History of development of boarding schools in middle ages, etc. 3. Reformation; its effects; counter-reformation. 4. Modern Catholic boarding schools: differences between British/Irish/US traditions and those on the continent of Europe. 5. The situation in mission countries. 6. Modern changes and decline: new challenges; abandonment of single-sex boarding schools. Creations of new schools. 7.
