Contested deletion[edit]

This category should not be speedy deleted as being unpopulated, because... First of all the category is not empty. Second of all it is the analog of the category for multiplicative functions. Both multiplicative and additive functions defined in this context play an important role in number theory. At any rate, how does one create a new good category that is relevant (say, to users browsing the number theory category subcategories page for relevant entries) if some *$$hole editor preemptively flags it as an empty category before one can even add solid pages of implicit relevance that are in this category?!?!?! Literally, within 30 minutes of my creating the category and adding the first topics page to it (while I was busy fixing lack of references contested by some other editor for that new page), this category gets marked for speedy deletion. I think Wikipedia is a wonderful thing, really I do, but the presence of overzealous editors who typically tend not to understand the pages they contest (I have noticed here and more than once) is problematic for making new, or let's say even, bleeding edge material available for mass consumption -- again where relevent.

Point being, this is not a pointless or somehow invalid or defective category I created. AND, AND, AND: IT'S NOT EMPTY! The category needs enlargement, but this is the job of other knowledgeable contributors, correct? -- Maxie --Maxie (talk) 01:35, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
