Roc Nation is a management consulting, media and entertainment company, including musicians, songwriters, producers, DJs and engineer management; music publishing; touring & merchandising; film & television; new business ventures; and a music label. Artists signed and managed by Roc Nation partake in full-rights deals, which are all encompassing and include ticket sales, record sales and all forms of endorsements. The company was founded in 2008 by entrepreneur Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, after securing a 10-year US$152 million business deal with live-events company Live Nation in April 2008.
