The Rieserferner Group is a sub-group of the Central Alps in the Eastern Alps. It mainly in South Tyrol, the former Austrian territory now in Italy. Together with the Ankogel Group, the Glockner Group, the Goldberg Group, the Schober Group, the Kreuzeck Group, the Granatspitz Group, the Venediger Group and the Villgraten Mountains the Rieserferner Group forms the main range known as the High Tauern.

The boundary for the region is taken from the definition of the Central Alps and its subdivisions into individual mountain groups by the Alpine Club division of the Eastern Alps (AVE).
