Angel Bolques Jr. is an American Virgin Islander politician. He serves as a Democratic member for the At-large district of the Virgin Islands Legislature.[1][2]

Career[edit]

Public Service[edit]

Angel Bolques Jr. has served as a Senator-At-Large in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands since July 2022, where he has focused on legislative policy and advocacy for the islands. Prior to this role, he was a Legislative Researcher for Senator Marvin A. Blyden during the 34th Legislature, a position he held for two years. His work involved in-depth analysis of legislative initiatives, ensuring that the laws and policies crafted were in the best interests of Virgin Islanders. Bolques Jr. has also held significant roles within the Virgin Islands Board of Elections and the Board of Education, where he contributed to the governance and policy-setting for education across the United States Virgin Islands.

Political Involvement[edit]

As a National Committeeman for the Democratic Party of the Virgin Islands since May 2020, Bolques Jr. has played a crucial role in representing the territory at the national level, coordinating communication strategies, and spearheading fundraising efforts to strengthen the party's position and outreach.

Business and Consulting[edit]

In the private sector, Angel Bolques Jr. founded Angel Arts Consulting in June 2011, where he has applied his expertise in brand development, strategic consulting, and media production. This consultancy focuses on fostering business growth through innovative strategies and deep community engagement. He is also actively involved with R.A.S. Events INC., promoting local artists and cultural events that enrich the community's cultural heritage.

Professional Roles in Education[edit]

Bolques Jr. has a strong background in education. He served as an Administrator and Computer Technology Teacher at Gifft Hill School, St. John, in addition to his role with the Board of Education. He was deeply involved in counseling, technology integration, Virgin Islands History, and community outreach programs.

Contributions to Civic and Cultural Organizations[edit]

Angel Bolques Jr.'s commitment extends to civic engagement and cultural preservation through his work with various boards and committees, including the Community Action NOW! Inc., Virgin Islands Unity Day Group, Cultural Enhancement Committee, R.A.S. Events, INC., VI Rastafarian Sacramental Cannabis Council Inc., and the Black Power Theatre.
