Category:Userboxes and Template:WP:UBS

Would there be a benefit to adding categories to Category:Userboxes to be more consistent with Template:WP:UBS? For example, there is Wikipedia:Userboxes/Media/Television and Wikipedia:Userboxes/Media/Television (shows), but there is no Category:Television user templates or Category:Television (shows) user templates. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 10:50, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

You can add them if you want to. I did a little informal study a month or so ago, using the page hits tool and basically discovered that even the most widely used categories for articles get almost no page hits, meaning people aren't using them very much. As a result I don't spend much time on categories. - Ahunt (talk) 12:12, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 09:51, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

2 questions

Can sombody make an userbox with message: "This user used Dashes script" or sth like that?

Is it okay to add "userboxes" that start with "User:Pelmeen10/abc" to Category:Userboxes? I don't think they should. Thanks. Pelmeen10 (talk) 03:02, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Sure I can make a box for that if you can let me know a bit more about what a "Dashes script" is, as we don't have an article on it. What would be a good picture, symbol or initial for it? As far as the cat goes, yes any userboxes, even in userspace, can go there. - Ahunt (talk) 12:42, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
By some mistakes if you look at that caegory, some user main pages are there also. I removed some though.
Dashes script is not an article. It's a script which fixes dashes (User:GregU/dashes.js). Haven't thoght about the picture yet. Maybe just this: "- to –". Thanks! Pelmeen10 (talk) 13:22, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Okay thanks for explaining that! How does this look? Feel free to ask for changes in colour, wording etc!
Code Result
{{User:Ahunt/Dashes}}
- to –This user employs the Dashes script to fix dashes on Wikipedia.

Hehe, thanks. I can figure out the rest. I hope you won't claim copyright for {{User Dashes script}}. Thanks again. Pelmeen10 (talk) 13:37, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Nope, everything on Wikipedia is freely licenced! Feel free to just go and edit the box if you like and can figure out the coding! I will add it to Wikipedia:Userboxes/Wikipedia/Stats and tools. - Ahunt (talk) 13:55, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Nice idea, maybe below WikiEd (It's part of that also.)? Pelmeen10 (talk) 13:58, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
It's there at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Wikipedia/Stats_and_tools#Editing_tools. - Ahunt (talk) 14:08, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Do you know what made me smile when I looked at that page? :) Pelmeen10 (talk) 14:25, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
What? - Ahunt (talk) 14:27, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
{{User:Ahunt/Dashes}} instead of {{User Dashes script}}. Pelmeen10 (talk) 14:30, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
When I make up user boxes I usually do so in my own user space and just leave them there. When I posted that one I didn't realize that you had duplicated it. - Ahunt (talk) 14:56, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
I know that there are some users who don't want to be "unoriginal" and use stuff from other userspace. Pelmeen10 (talk) 15:05, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
I guess a few might not, although many boxes I have made are in wide use - it doesn't bug me either way! - Ahunt (talk) 15:40, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Basically it doesn't matter to me either but I never make templates in my userspace. Pelmeen10 (talk) 23:59, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Mfd WikiProject Userbox Migration

Please see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Userbox Migration. Thank you. --Kleinzach 01:49, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

We need a userbox for the ProveIt GT citation tool !

Way more folks would be adding citations if they only knew about this wonderful tool, ProveIt. Would someone here please put together a userbox so we can promote it? Djembayz (talk) 13:15, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Userbox Star

Greeting from The Awards Project!

Currently, WP:PUA lists this as your Project's award, but such an award does not appear on your project's page anywhere. I'd just like to confirm that it is, in fact, the Official Award for your Project before I move it to WP:WPPA. Cheers! Achowat (talk) 20:33, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
