Scope help[edit]

Leave requests here for articles that may need a second opinion to determine if an article falls under the project's scope.

  1. Çalıkuşu - the article talks about a film adaptation, but the article is mainly about the novel. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 18:43, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would say that the page is only about the novel, so it doesn't fall under our project's scope. If an article is created about the film, that obviously can be added. In this article's current state, I'd recommend removing the banner. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 01:25, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  2. List of Hollywood novels -- Film-related novels? I'm guessing not, but I'd like another opinion before I remove the banner. PC78 (talk) 14:42, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This one looks like it could go either way. It could fall under the scope for both us and WP:NOVELS or just them. Same would have to go for Hollywood novel. It's up to you. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 22:28, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  3. A.D. (film) -- This article claims it's a tv miniseries, but the article name has "(film)". Other miniseries are not in scope. --Peppagetlk 22:02, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    I moved the article to A.D. (miniseries) and removed the banner. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 19:18, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Buzz Lightyear attractions -- The article is about a series of rides at assorted Disney theme parks. They are rides based on a film character, however, and I'm not sure to how many degrees of separation WP:FILM's scope stretches. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 19:05, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Rides and amusements parks, no matter what they are based on, do not fall in the scope. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 19:16, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Aftershock:_Earthquake_in_New_York - The article shifts back and forth between calling it a film and a TV series, but there is nothing mentioned of a film version in the release section. Smetanahue (talk) 08:43, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  6. h.m.p. (Japan) - Pornographic film production company. Not sure, just because I've never come across anything porn-related in the project before. —97198 (talk) 13:30, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    I would say yes, but also add {{WikiProject Pornography}} if it isn't there already. BOVINEBOY2008 :) 14:22, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

General discussion[edit]

Reporting articles and files due to uncertainty[edit]

I propose having a list or a number of lists where editors participating in the drive can dump article names or file names because they are not certain how to handle it. For example, there may be some articles out there where there is a "Film adaptation" section in an article about a play, or some screenshots whose inclusion may not be clear. Is this worth pursuing for this drive, or should we just skip such uncertain articles and files? —Erik (talkcontrib) 17:37, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The two above sections are dedicated to questions on assessments and scope, but if we want to include one for images as well, go ahead and add it above. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 17:55, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
