Discussion about the Meetup on August 16, 2018 at Venture Cafe[edit]

Hi, I'm seeing who is active here on this project. I am interested to pull together active St. Louis area wikipedians for regular meeting and editing at monthly Venture Cafe Thursday Gatherings. Venture Cafe at Cortex every Thursday from 3-8 PM is an open gathering with free drinks. We could have an hour of meeting, and then an hour of social to get to know each other. I'm excited to see who else is here in St. Louis or surrounding who would like to be more active as a community. I'd love to discuss a Wiknic when we meet. Ok, Jumping in, I propose we meet at next Thursday's Gathering on the 16 at 5-6. I will work with Venture Cafe to get us a space, and then from 6-7 we have some drinks. Ah, what time will you be back? My thought right now is we co-locate at Venture Cafe's on a regular monthly night like 2nd Thursdays of the month for a session of editing, training new people and then social time. Notes from the meeting[edit]

Our gathering started with introductions and continued on with an overview of Wikipedia. We plan to gather the second Thursday of each month during Venture Cafe’s Thursday gathering beginning at 5 pm. Likely we will be in the Red Room on the first floor of the Cortex. Super! Unfortunately, I'll be traveling for work on Sept. 13th but will be back for October!
