A nice article on the components of modern bunker gear, but the article is not near GA status yet.

Article needs more references - preferably to more than one written work
History section needs to be much longer and talk about the evolution of the gear in much more detail.
The lead needs to summarise the article per WP:LEAD - at present it is a simple definition of the heading.
The article is very US-centric. seekout more information on other countries practices and consider renaming the article to a more generic term.
change contractions like "dont't" to the words "do not"
try removing the frequent occurances of the qualifyer "some" as it usually does not add to meaning.
caption for the picture Several pairs of surplus firefighter boots. .... drop the "Several"
Terms like "NFPA 1975" need to be wikilinked or explained.
needs copyediting for conciseness... "required to be outfitted with safety toes" could be "required to have safety toes"
