OriginalKushari is an Egyptian dish made of rice, macaroni and lentils mixed together, topped with a tomato-vinegar sauce, short pieces of spaghetti garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions. It dates back to the 19th century.
Reason
Nice image of an Egyptian dish that a lot of us may have never seen before. I'm interested in trying it ;)

  • Support. Very nicely done photograph, but I wonder if someone could identify the various ingredients in little bowls? Clockwise from top left, I'm guessing lentils, chickpeas, onions, hot sauce, tomato/vinegar, onions again? Is that correct? Josh Milburn (talk) 13:01, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Sadly, the photographer has left Commons, so I don't think she'd be easy to contact. Your order appears correct to me, but I can't be sure. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 15:04, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
      • The bottom left dish (the entirely red one) looks like Sweet Chilli to me - the red chilli pieces and white chilli seeds stand out - I use this sauce almost daily in my cooking so looks very familiar to me. gazhiley 09:37, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
