  • Oppose, sorry. I'm really not convinced this is the best illustration for the subject. It's technically ok, but the composition isn't stunning- forground grass gets in the way and so on. I'd also generally prefer an upright specimen. It does illustrate the colour change fairly well, but I'm not convinced it's feature-worthy. J Milburn (talk) 16:47, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I suggest wp:VPICS. Nergaal (talk) 04:25, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is the cut a natural phenomenon? Putting it there on the ground doesn't tell. Why not a white background or the hand who cut it? Foldedwater (talk) 17:12, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • I don't see a need for a studio shot here; the cut is a clear way to demonstrate what might happen if, say, an animal knocked the head off the mushroom. Cowtowner (talk) 02:09, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Shot was taken in wild nature. This place where the mushroom has been found and cut off. Nearby the root (stub) from which he is visible has grown. Also you can look this photo. --George Chernilevsky talk 13:02, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • What I am suggesting is that a studio shot might be a better option. It is not needed as other variants can also improve it. When taking a picture (a featured one) it is not enough just the subject there, inside the frame. Everything inside the frame should be conspiring to present the subject or what it is saying or at least not being against it. The branch in the corner and the grass are stealing attention from the mushroom without contributing to it portrayal. A studio shot would do better since, for example, what is wanted is to show is the efect of sectioning it, something that can be associated to lab, biologists with white robes and a scalpel. If context is going to be provided, since the photo is about an action (what happens when you cut it) then show it. Show the hand and the knife. Of course, care show be give to how to do it. A hand and a knife there in any way can be as distracting as the branch if not done wisely. Foldedwater (talk) 16:52, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment Next time i will try to make video. 10-20 seconds are enough to show change from yellow to dark blue color. --George Chernilevsky talk 20:06, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per J Milburn, and from George's comment at 20:06 on the 27th, it sounds like we'll get a better candidate soon. Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 15:23, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
