Miné Okubo[edit]

Nice job on the Miné Okubo article! It has a very accomplished feel to it -- well sourced and organized. Impressive work for such a recent Wikipedian. — Myasuda (talk) 17:07, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Japanese American artists[edit]

Just thought I'd let you know that I populated some entries in the category you recently created (Category:Japanese American artists). I avoided adding comic book artists / animators (there are quite a few JAs in this area) since it's not clear whether they are typically added to such categories (I don't think they are). I also avoided pure performance artists, sticking to painters and sculptors. I also didn't add Yoko Ono, though she might qualify . . . I'll let you be the judge of that. ;) — Myasuda (talk) 02:57, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, with respect to Yoko, I was referring to her conceptual and performance art (see Yoko_Ono#Artwork) rather than her "music". In fact, Lennon first met her at one of her exhibitions (see Yoko_Ono#Life_with_Lennon). I don't claim to have much knowledge of this form of art. — Myasuda (talk) 17:09, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

USS Dauphin[edit]

Do you have a source for the additional information? Gatoclass (talk) 09:27, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your interest in my update. I added a citation for the new information. I have the cited .pdf file which I can send to you if you're interested. Wjwalrus (talk) 13:37, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That looks fine now. And thanks for clearing up the mystery of what happened to Dauphin after her military service :) Gatoclass (talk) 14:56, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
Wjwalrus - My company, based in NYC, is embarking on a project to house exchange students in a cruise ship. Your SS Stevens article is wonderful - were you a resident of the ship? Macrosea (talk) 18:56, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Macrosea - Thank you very much for your comment, and I'm glad that you liked the article. Yes, I enjoyed residing on that rather unique dormitory for three years while I attended school. I hope that you have much good luck with your project. Wjwalrus (talk) 16:56, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
