A request to protect Chicken[edit]

I saw your request in wikipedia:requests for page protection, and I think you tried your best to request protection. However, I believe that you did not look through instructions there; so rather than doing edits for you, I hope you please re-edit the passage yourself. I'm just letting you know your partial errors, that's all. --Gh87 01:30, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yea I notice.... At the top of the page not at the bottom, the reason I posted it on the bottom is that i am so used to to the report a use, in that page you post at the bottom. Thanks --Wiz126 01:38, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey...you sound like a nerd. Try cleaning up your image. Oh, and you spelled "major" wrong. Chicken666 17:57, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

reverted edits on CAPTCHA[edit]

why remove the link? the captcha.biz site's examples of captchas aren't very strong at all, and the site doesn't actually tell people how to implement them, it just (after 6 pages) gives people a download of a premade form with the weak captcha. Given this, it seems to fit under the 'implementations' heading, which was agreed to be a Bad Thing in the talk for that page.

why not category:spamming? CAPTCHA's main use is to fight spam! perhaps category:anti-spam would be more appropriate, agreed, but why not just change the category instead of removing it?

Virtual classroom[edit]

I've set up the Virtual classroom (VC), which is a forum for the discussion of advanced Wikipedia skills. It differs from the help forums on Wikipedia in that major topics of discussion are scheduled and once started remain continuous.

The reason I'm contacting you is because one of the class assignments is a comparison of our user interfaces. A lot can be learned from individual users, who usually have developed their own ways of doing things. I noticed you are an expert programmer, so you no doubt have some tricks up your sleeve. I'm hoping that you will stop by and share and compare the interfaces you use when browsing and working on Wikipedia. I've also constructed a tools page which presents everything learned from these discussions, and it is growing -- there are some pretty powerful techniques on there now. Even Interiot, Rich Farmbrough, and CBDunkerson have stopped by the VC to show off their tools and methods. It's been a lot of fun, and you are invited. The interface topics are called:

and

I look forward to seeing you there and to learning your wikiways. Sincerely,  The Transhumanist    23:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Parkland Mascot.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Parkland Mascot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. We Need to Settle This Like Gentleman[edit]

I'm with you on stopping this vandalism on Khaled Mardam-Bey, but my edit is legitimate and you keep removing it. EctoplasmOnToast 03:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The picture proposed is not appropriate. It is a medium for spam and vandalism. The person who the article is about IS NOT in the picture, except for an edited face of him. By editing the picture you have possibly validated his copyright (Copyright (c) Khaled Mardam-Bey, all rights reserved. ) --Wiz126 03:38, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Java programming language[edit]

Hey there. First, sorry about warning you - it was unintentional. However, I have looked at the page more carefully, and Java programming language appears like a valid redirect to me. Why exactly do you keep removing it? Ale_Jrbtalk 19:56, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry for the confusion I must have made. My user page was vandalized, and was redirected to the Java article. Naturally, I clicked the edit the page and removed the redirect. Somehow that ended up whipping out? The java page.--Wiz126 (talk) 16:03, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

October 2008[edit]

The recent edit you made to Java programming language constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. PeterSymonds (talk) 19:58, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:MICROS LOGO.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:MICROS LOGO.PNG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Soundvisions1 (talk) 12:50, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Bridgewater-Raritan High School.PNG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Notice

The file File:Redner's Logo.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
