Your overnight comments.....

Hi War wizard 90.....Thanks for your notes. I am very frustrated with the page creation process. Ten years ago, I created my company's page lickety split with no issues at all. Now, it feels like a techno-nightmare just to get a simple page together. Yes, we own the material, because it's a biosketch we wrote for one of our employees, but it came down because it also appeared on our company website. We rewrote it to avoid duplication, but I guess we inadvertently removed the previous "warning" code in the redo. We thought we were finally on track and had absolutely no intention of doing anything sinister. We even used the page creation wizard, yet it seems like everything we do is wrong. I need to make several more pages, so I'm just trying to get through the process ONCE so I know what to do. Thanks. 1956okie (talk) 14:20, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

@1956okie: I understand the intricate policies on Wikipedia can be daunting to someone unfamiliar with the process. I have been editing Wikipedia for nearly a decade and I have seen the policies grow, and the system become more complex. Unfortunately, this is a result of avoiding legality issues and also to keep the standards of verifiable information that gives Wikipedia a good name. However, I too remember the days when creating articles was much easier. Don't worry about your page being deleted, the information is not lost. You can ask the administrator who deleted it to restore it to the draft space where you can continue working on it without fear of deletion until it is ready for the mainspace. Just remember, once an article is posted into the mainspace, it is subject to all of the rigorous standards and guidelines required by Wikipedia. I hope you don't get discouraged and continue to contribute positively to the project, we are always in need of more good editors. Have a wonderful day and let me know if you have any questions. -War wizard90 (talk) 22:11, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

persondata

Hello. Why did you remove the persondata with this edit?Zigzig20s (talk) 05:31, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

@Zigzig20s:As it clearly states in my edit summary, I removed it because it is a deprecated template per WP:PERSON. -War wizard90 (talk) 05:33, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
I don't understand what you mean by deprecated. We've been using it for YEARS.Zigzig20s (talk) 05:34, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
@Zigzig20s:Deprecated means it is no longer being used, any useable information from this template was transferred to Wikidata and any new content should be added on that project. This was decided in a recent RfC, you can read all about it at WP:PERSON. -War wizard90 (talk) 05:36, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Chef's table / Chef's Table

When you look a the talk page of Chef's table, you can see that it is tagged as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink. Not as part of some Netflix docu. Please, leave that redirect as it is. The Banner talk 02:21, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

@The Banner:It was tagged as such, because it was serving simply as a redirect to a subsection of the restaurant article, before a main article existed. If the tag no longer applies it can be removed (even though the documentary could easily fall within that same category either way). It makes no sense whatsoever to have the search "Chef's Table" and "Chef's table" take you to two different places. Readers will have no way of knowing that this subtle nuance would take you to different targets. They should both lead to the article that has that title, and a hatnote on that article can lead readers to the other use of the term. If we can't come to an agreement on this we may need to ask for a 3rd opinion to resolve the matter. -War wizard90 (talk) 02:35, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
You could also have named the series Chef's Table (series) to distinguish between the table and the TV-series. The Chef's table is quite a bit older than Netflix... The Banner talk 04:14, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
@The Banner:First of all I didn't create the article, second of all we only disambiguate pages when an article of the same title already exists, please read WP:DAB. -War wizard90 (talk) 06:30, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
I've put a temporary hatnote in the Restaurant article, since you haven't responded I will wait for one week before assuming the changed redirect is no longer an issue for you and I will re-target it. -War wizard90 (talk) 05:43, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Comments from Budjiri

Tomaree Battrey, you edited out my reference link to the only book written on the subject, now a free download on the net after being out of print for 15 years. Why? I am putting it back.Budjiri (talk) 01:41, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

@Budjiri: Because the content you added is inappropriate per Wikipedia's policies. Please read WP:SOAP and WP:NOTREPOSITORY, which specifically excludes posting full-length sources (line item # 3). If you add it again, it will be reverted. -War wizard90 (talk) 01:50, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi!

Hi! I have made a list of articles that contain (possible) typos that can be fixed with AWB. Would you like to check some of them? The Quixotic Potato (talk) 01:27, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

@The Quixotic Potato: Sure, send me a link to the list and I will add them to my queue. -War wizard90 (talk) 01:29, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, you are awesome. Have you read the articles about Ignosticism and Theological noncognitivism? I posted a list of about 20.000 articles here: User:The Quixotic Potato/preparsedtypolist. I'm assuming that that is a bit too much for one person, but if you want to you can do some of them. Please remove the ones you want to do from the list, so that other people don't have to look at them again. The Quixotic Potato (talk) 01:32, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
@The Quixotic Potato: Sounds good. I had not read those articles, although I glanced at them now. I'm not sure how it differs much from agnosticism, either way, it's a much safer world view than believing in an imaginary man in the sky who tells you not to masturbate. I have no issue with people wanting to believe in a higher power, or even thinking that there is some sort of afterlife that we just have yet to prove the existence of. These types of thoughts are normal as it is comforting to believe that one will continue to exist after this life (comforting whether it is true or not). However, these archaic books claiming to be the word of God are obviously man made and contain nothing of value, other than the value it adds to mythology. Atheists and Agnostics worldwide would be happy to believe in a higher power that was proven, it's just this fantastical-controlling God who somehow always needs money that we take issue with. Not sure if how much of interest this topic is to you, but if it is I highly recommend checking out Sam Harris's podcast Waking up with Sam Harris". Also check out Bill Maher's documentary Religulous. -War wizard90 (talk) 01:59, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Agnosticism is like saying "I don't know". Theological noncognitivism is more like saying: "the word 'god' is meaningless, please give a clear definition of what you mean when you use that word". For all the religions I know about I am what they call a strong atheist, I am certain that its all manmade BS, but in general I am a theological noncognivist, I think that words like "god" are basically meaningless because it is so unclear what people mean when they use that word. Of course I've seen Religulous, almost all potatoes have. I know Sam Harris, but I didn't know about his podcast, I will download it, thanks. I demand that you listen to this song or you will burn in a fictional hell for all eternity (or until I get bored). You must be a big George Carlin fan. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! The Quixotic Potato (talk) 02:12, 17 July 2015 (UTC) p.s. Have you seen Jesus Camp? And Hell's Angel?
Haha, I'm glad you caught the Carlin reference, but it's so true. I wonder why people who believe in current religions can't just look at the graveyard of religions to realize how untrue they all are, but oh well. -War wizard90 (talk) 02:59, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Fuck me Sam, what are the odds that of history’s endless parade of gods // that the God you just happened to be taught to believe in is the actual god and he digs on healing // but not the AIDS-ridden African nations, nor the victims of the plague nor the flood-addled Asians, but healthy, privately-insured Australians with common and curable lens degeneration? The Quixotic Potato (talk) 03:08, 17 July 2015 (UTC) p.s. Sing it with me p.p.s. I love Jesus

Hello,

You placed an orphan tag on the above. How many links would it take to justify removing this tag? I have always heard three is the magic number.
