Userspace Libertarianism

Hi Walton,

I was once very much a "userspace libertarian" also; however, after having to delete a few userspace warrens of 100 pages or more (all related to a fictional "Mortal Kombat league"), I've become somewhat more restrictive. In any event, I expect admins to be more restrained in their use of userspace only for encyclopedic purposes. I'm not sure if I'd nominate "Wikipedia Army" or "Wikipedia Commune" for deletion, but they aren't groups to which I'd want admins to belong. Best wishes, Xoloz 14:31, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

R's RfA

I wasn't suggesting UAA policy was wrong, just that it's not a big deal if a name sits there for 2 hours. If it's an obviously bad name, or they vandalise, then they are always blocked very quickly. --Steve (Stephen) talk 23:33, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Walton. I understand the need to grant inexperienced users some slack, but wouldn't it be more logical to *userfy* this page, to allow the creator to collect some more references? The article is now continuing to sit in main space, claiming (among other things) that J.D. is a billionaire. There is a real possibility that Duran is notable, and that SOMEONE could write an acceptable article, with enough resources, but nothing the creator has said so far inspires much confidence that he understands the referencing requirements. The article has been out there for more than a year already. I thought about improving the article, but it's hard to find anything usable from Google. You would need the subject's cooperation. EdJohnston 02:08, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Andrew Lande

The andrew lande article was deleted, that's ancient history, I've made my peace. However the revision history was also deleted. Could you give me the wiki code from the most recent change before it was deleted so I can put his elsewhere on the internet? Thanks! Andman8 04:50, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Found something maybe worth noting...

MK News and MK Citizen didn't have articles. I created some and have started them, however I've no idea what to do when creating an article really, or even if they are worth an article. I stumbled across it when adding something to Alan Ball (Alan Ball Jr). Would like to know your opinion... Ollington 15:40, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your support in my recent RfA. However, it was unsuccessful. I am in no way disheartened, and I will hopefully succeed in a month or two. You wrote: Although I understand why you tagged this article for speedy deletion, we do generally consider most villages and towns to be notable - they're considered an exception to the normal notability guidelines. Not that you've done anything wrong - if the article had been on any other topic, you'd have been quite right to tag it as deletable. Drop me a note on my talk page if you need any help or advice about deletion policy. Waltontalk 19:45, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

I completely understand that towns are an exception to the notability guidelines. Maybe we should note that on the notability page, for people like me who don't have a lot of experience with it. :)
I ran across this page while trying to help with the orphans, which are still being generated (at 1000 at a time) only into the As. This page has no links to it, and since it isn't that notable, I can't think of any way to create links to it. Is there a "List of Sri Lankan villages" page, or something? (Nope, I just checked—there is List_of_Sri_Lankan_Tamil_village_deities, though. Hmmm). Any ideas? ≈≈Carolfrog≈≈♦тос♦ 19:53, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
I managed to de-orphan it [1]. I don't know much about Sri Lanka, but perhaps an infobox for "Villages in X Province" might be useful. When I find the time I'll see if I can find any sources or extra info for the article - there must at least be some census data available. Waltontalk 18:21, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your help.  :) I'll see if I can figure out how to suggest the infobox to the Sri Lanka Wikiproject. ≈≈Carolfrog≈≈♦тос♦ 04:19, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Deleting a redirect

Hi there. I'm wondering if, as the creator, you would consider putting this redirect up for deletion? If you review this series of edits I made, you will see that I have replaced it with WP:HARM#TEST and rewritten and retitled the section to avoid the subject's name being used to refer to this test. As I've said on the talk page for WP:HARM, I think using people's names like this for shortcuts, while memorable, is not best practice. I hope this is acceptable, and you will agree to ask for the redirect to be deleted. Thanks. Carcharoth 02:19, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. Carcharoth 10:00, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Could you raise this on the talk page? It is better if the discussion takes place there. Carcharoth 11:03, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

WP:HARM

Good work at WP:HARM. I excised some text that was more of a formulation of policy and process than a guideline. But I think that with additional input from other editors this has potential. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 16:38, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: You running for RfB

It's impossible to predict RfBs. For instance, when I created my first one, I was certain it would pass. It failed quite miserably. This one I was certain would fail miserably, and it's not failed miserably, even if it has failed. I've spoken to Durin about his oppose, and even if it fails at this point I am very pleased with how it went, though obviously I still want it to pass. To be honest, I don't think you'd succeed at an RfB, given your views on how RfA works (or how you want it to work). Also, it is typically a bad idea to run for bureaucratship unless you have spent one year as a sysop, as this is a standard that a lot of people hold. I'm not certain whether I would support or oppose, as it would be based partly on your answers as well. --Deskana (talk) 13:12, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Honestly, it's impossible to say. I'm not sure whether I would personally support you or not. My hunch (and this is an hunch that has no backing in fact) is that with such a stance on "RfA as vote", you will never succeed in an RfB. But don't let that stop you. :-) --Deskana (talk) 13:32, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Withdrawn Afd/Mike33

Amazing thanks for your support. I read your essay at the weekend and although it really does show the way Afd has been working since winter, it really is a how to do guide. Thanks God, you didn't cite ;-). Rfa is broke and nobody can be honest. Mad guys boast and lose we accept that, but the three questions can so easily be learnt you wouldn't need to edit a page. get twinkle, get a four month count and a couple of civic pages and you'd pass.

I was quite honest when I said I didn't need tools, but this from RfA Talk wanted me to test the theory of honesty:

The next time someone self-nominates, they should make sure to include: "I don't want power at all! I really don't care if I'm made an admin or if I believe that I could use the tools to benefit Wikipedia; I just hope you guys'll humor me for a week." GracenotesT § 05:22, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

AfD question

I'm a bit confused on an AfD issue, and I hope you can help me out. The article As Cities Burn Demo 2003 has an AfD tag, which links to this discussion. You posted on the discussion that the result was delete, but only the main article As Cities Burn EP was deleted. Should As Cities Burn Demo 2003 and 4 Song (EP) have been deleted also, or should the AfD tags be removed from them? Thanks!--Fabrictramp 23:52, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Re:Adminship offer:

I'm flattered - thank you so much for offering to nominate me, but I'm afraid I must decline this time 'round. I haven't been out of controversy for a long enough time & I will undoubtedly recieve numerous opposes on the first day alone. I think I could be ready for adminship, but the other editors aren't ready for me to be one just yet. Again, thank you for the offer, but I don't want to get stressed out right now, which a probable failure at RfA will cause. I could list at least 10 people which would oppose me just based on past experiences of me stepping on their toes. Anyway, I'm very humbled by your proposal, but it would be better for you not to back a lame horse - you'd do better to go nominate the one with better odds. ;) Cheers Walton! :) Spawn Man 04:30, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Sex Reply

Hi,

Oh yes, I think I understand your position, and sympathize with it, to a degree. There must be, however, an acceptable dispassionate manner to express interest in any (potentially offensive) encyclopedic topic. This userbox does not say, "I like f_cking" or "I will copulate with anything that moves." Saying "I like sex" must be considered neutral, because there is no alternative, in more dispassionate language, that still expresses that preference. No encyclopedic topic can be considered so taboo that it is beyond the pale even to mention it on a user-page. This isn't so much an issue of freedom of expression for contributors; they must state their views as dispassionately as possible. For the sake of the encyclopedia, though, expressing a simple interest in -- or affection for -- any topic of encyclopedic merit cannot be verboten, once it is established that the contributor has employed the most dispassionate language that can reasonably be expected. I consider "I like sex" to be such a case: no undue emphasis on the lewd or grotesque is employed, no overstatement occurs. It is as basic an expression of inclination toward a subject as it is possible to frame. Those who might be offended should be counseled that, if minimal expressions of preference can be called "indecent", then the project's ease of operation is endangered. The simple word "sex" is no more inherently indecent than the word "philosophy", or the word "sailing", or the word "conservative." There is no more clear, objective label possible for the act. For this reason, it must be permitted.
To harken back to our prior discussions on the right-left divide, there are certainly many who find all war morally offensive. This does mean that the expression "I support war (or a given war)" should be barred. In fact, very few people on earth find sex morally offensive in every given context (eg. Cathars), which is a blessing for those who value the continuation of the species. Best wishes, Xoloz 18:07, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Lradrama's RFA

I ran through their talk page history, which indicated at one point they had been blocked[2]. I based my comment on his katewannabe's tool count and the l;ast one thousand contributions he had made, where I saw plenty of rv'ing, but little actual edit history contribution. As I stated, I don't think he is a threat to Wikipedia or a poor editor, I just personally do not trust him with the tools. Also, snarky responses like this [3] raised my eyebrow. --Ozgod 13:20, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Second RfA: ready

I feel I'm definitely ready, now. I've been trying to tackle more Wikipedia space edits, specifically XfD's, in the meantime, too. Thanks for offering to nominate me. I'm ready whenever you feel it's the right time for you to nominate or for me to be nominated. Just let me know!  hmwith  talk 14:42, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, well, I know that I, especially, have to wait the time, since that was the main reason it didn't pass. However, thank you so much for the compliments. It really means a lot.  hmwith  talk 15:08, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Walton. An image that I uploaded, a logo for a baseball field, was recently deleted (not by you): Image:53logo.JPG. The reason for deletion was "CSD I5: Is unused and not free", but, to the best of my knowledge, a logo is allowed in these situations, per WP:LOGO, and it was being used in the Fifth Third Field (Toledo) article since the day of uploading, as far as I know. Is my interpretation of WP:LOGO incorrect? I'm only coming to you, as you're an admin who I trust, and I can't get a hold of the admin who originally deleted it (someone I also trust) after trying to do so on his talk page [here]. If you have any free time on your hands, I'm wondering if you can check it out. If the image is not allowed, then I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that I caused you or the other administrator. Thanks in advance!  hmwith  talk 21:40, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I just see every other baseball field (and other sport field) page that I've seen has the logo used without problem, and that's the other main reason I assumed it was okay. However, I know that is not a valid reason for it to be undeleted in itself, so maybe we can figure this out. Thanks for you quick response, and have a great day!  hmwith  talk 14:23, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
It has now been brought to my attention that the image had no fair use rationale, which was brought to my attention at WP:AN. I am highly embarrassed that I forgot one here.  hmwith  talk 21:55, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

List of atheist Nobel laureates (2nd AfD nomination)

FYI - Two days after you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of atheist Nobel laureates, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of atheist Nobel laureates (2nd nomination) was posted. Seems like a speedy close to me. -- Jreferee (Talk) 18:42, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

You could have relisted List of atheist Nobel laureates for more discussion, but you closed it. Your decision to close the nomination should mean something. I was thinking that since you closed it as No consensus rather than Keep, that leaves the decision of a speedy close of a quick AfD renomination in your hands as closer. -- Jreferee (Talk) 17:07, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for not clarifying thing. I did see your first post on my talk page and understood that you were not going to speedy close. My 17:07, 19 July 2007 above was not meant as a second request for you to speedy close, but I appreciate your reply. -- Jreferee (Talk) 17:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Royal Navy uniform

Hi Walton One. You are off to such a great start on the article Royal Navy uniform that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. The Main Page gets about 4,000,000 hits per day and appearing on the Main Page may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the "Good" articles proposed by bot list. Also, don't forget to keep checking back at Did you know suggestions for comments regarding your nomination. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 21:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

page deletion

How do you decide to delete a page when there is no consensus? I am talking about the page for Ben Malek. There were about an even number of keeps/deletes.. and you decided to delete it...

Thanks for the Spanish lesson. When I was learning the language, I had an abacus instead of a computer, so 'link' was nothing more than a character in Zelda. Haha! Adopt an English Class!

Unusual Adoption Request

Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.

Thank you!

When not to follow policy

WP:UCS and WP:IAR are VERY important aspects of wikipedia policy. WP:IAR states:

When you edit Wikipedia:

Improve and maintain content. Be considerate of others. Use common sense.

If the rules prevent any of this, ignore them.

WP:UCS states: Even if a contribution violates the precise wording of a rule, it might still be a good contribution. Similarly, just because something disruptive is not forbidden in a written rule doesn't mean it's a good idea (i.e., don't disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point). The spirit of the rules is more important than the letter.

Being too wrapped up in rules can cause you to lose perspective, so there are times when it is better to ignore a rule. Dogmatically following the rules to a tee is only harmful to wikipedia. People need to use common sense (even if you think it's vague and subjective) when editing. Many of the times the rules are flawed or are too incomplete to encompass all possible situations in which cases we need to do what seems best. If what we do is wrong then that's not a problem either as someone else with better common sense will no doubt come along and correct it. WP:UCS and WP:IAR don't mean to ignore the rules totally all of the time. They simply mean that if a specific rule clearly prevents you from improving the encyclopedia, ignore it. Use your common sense if a rule is preventing you from improving the encyclopedia, the rule might be changed the next day as the policies are frequently reworded and changed around. For more perspective on it you can see WP:WIARM. Wikidudeman (talk) 07:30, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

RfA

Heya, I did get your message, I just tend to take a little while to reply to them. I thank you for your support, but these untrue accusations of incivility and owning are clearly going to be raised by my enemies in every RfA I ever have, so it's not really worth trying. I do find it significant though that the majority of my supporters have personal testimonies of my worth and the majority of my opposers have never worked with me at all, so I'm not really bothered by it. Adminship is not a big deal, and I have enough stuff to do that I won't feel any loss. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:08, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

I appreciate your comments, and I do agree with you about the picky nature of RfA. Though I have to admit that some people who should have failed RfA for rather crucial POV reasons that no-one picked up on fail for silly unrelated reasons (like Jakew, who was in the middle of an edit war at the time he had his RfA, but everyone was far too focused on his mainspace/wikispace contrib balance to notice), so sometimes it works both ways. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 15:20, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

It seemed to have gotten off to a bad start and then went down hill from there. It's very unfortunate that it turned out the way it did however I do appreciate your participation. Thanks. Ward Churchill Misconduct

I see that you restored the content. How come the protection was not also lifted?--Getaway 16:52, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Peer Review

Howdy, I picked your name from the Wikipedia:Peer Review page. I have often though I would make a good peer reviewer (I write a lot of slop and don't notice it, yet I'm good at finding stuff in other people's writings). However, the Peer Review process is not clear to me, and the page doesn't help. If the process works how I think it does, there is certainly room for simplification. Please advise if you would be willing to give some pointers. Davemeistermoab 01:14, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Following your recent participation in Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 July 30#Allegations of American apartheid, you may be interested to know that a related article, Allegations of Chinese apartheid, is currently being discussed on AfD. Comments can be left at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of Chinese apartheid. -- ChrisO 15:30, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Ward Churchill

Hi,

Oh, absolutely yes -- it's normal to unprotect immediately on resolution of the AfD. Wikipedia's basic principles insist that free editing be at least attempted before protection is undertaken. (Sorry for not replying before, but I had thought I only needed to clarify if I disagreed with your actions.) Despite our off-wiki differences, your administrative decisions carry a heavy presumption of correctness in my eyes, whatever the case. Best wishes, Xoloz 17:35, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

I'll be on the watch for posts here. Have a happy vacation! Best wishes, Xoloz 18:00, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your support in my Request for Adminship. Unfortunately the nomination did not succeed, but please rest assured that I am still in full support of the Wikipedia project, and I'll try again in a few months! If you ever have any questions or suggestions for me, please don't hesitate to contact me. Best wishes, --Elonka 05:48, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

hmwith RfA

Hey Walton...hmwith informed me that you have offered to nominate her for adminship. I've offered to to do the same, so I'll be writing up a nom soon. If you'd like to add a co-nom when you get back, go for it! I'll leave a note here when I've done the nom. Thanks, Giggy Talk | Review 23:43, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Alright, when I'm ready in a few days here, I'll post the acceptance. =)  hmwith  talk 21:54, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh dear, you totally deserve deletion for using a sockpuppet with a similar name :P [4] Giggy Talk 22:27, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I need to be adopted. Will you adopt me?

DRV

An editor has asked for a deletion review of List of Los Angeles Dodgers Opening Day Starting Lineups. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Jaranda wat's sup 19:08, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey boss... I'm having troubles on St. Lucia page. This guy keeps bullying me. He as a family picture posted and that would be okay but the picture depicts a very crowded beach which is atypical of St. Lucia. I think that the only way he could get this is to be at a popular resort which is cordoned off from the island. Anyway, I need some advice as I was just there and don't want others to get the impression that it's a big overvisited island because it's not.

Please advise.

---Your son.

Hi... im embarassed

I read about that discussion you had on my user page. Thanks for being the only one to vote yes... i am new... and it did upset me. You guys should be a little nicer cuz that should be put under bullying in the encyclopidia. And now you are planning to rip apart my user page? Geez! I'm telling all my friends and teachers and school not to use wikipedia because it is harsh, cruel, crude, and overall not understanding. They will all listen! But thank you for listening to me. I am still very upset though. I don't even have a myspace. Those were all STORIES! I like to write STORIES! I had them there so all my friends in school could read my STORIES! Thank you. BEATLES RULE!!! go fonz! 20:24, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Don Schrader

What is a BLP complaint and why do people keep deleting the Don Schrader article? I mean, I'd be surprised if Wikipedia were against including figures that had over two decades of regional cult status. Yes, he puts Wikipedia's standards of "notability" to the test, but given that several people knowledgeable about Don have contributed to the article and given that Wikipedia is a democratic, libertarian entity, shouldn't we be able keep him? Is there a higher power who would be willing to discuss the article so that it can stop being deleted?Tochariana 13:39, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

I think you accidentally duplicated your vote, because it is both support and oppose. Check it out. [5] Bushcarrot Talk Please Sign! 14:40, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you so much! I'm very glad you understand what I said! I really did work hard on those pages! I guess 'Please Do Not Bite The Newcomers' wasn't followed with my case. It sure seemed like they were bullying me! I read what they said about me behind my back! It hurt! One person said that I was an embarassment to wikipedia! Ouch! They seemed very cocky to have a say in it, and they seemed like they wanted me out of wikipedia. I wish to be a writer, and if I ever do get published, I will think of you (in a good way!)! I have made many changes, but they changed them back! I'll take your advice, and I'll join a project or vandalism act! I'll try my best to help Wikipedia! You are very true! Wiki can be a VERY harsh place (especially to someone who is a little confused about it), but you are sure one of the helpful people! Thank you so much! I'm VERY glad you understand what I said! Thank you again and again! But really, tell your friends on there that people can see it, to be a little nicer, and to stop being so harsh. Thank you so much!BEATLES RULE!!! go fonz! 20:37, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Since you closed this article as a merge, I wonder if you could dig out from the article on the young lady the 20th anniversary newspaper article providing a retrospective on the crash and to her life going on, completing college, whatever from the disappeared article and add it. That would be more of a merge rather than just a redirect. This would seem to be compliant with BLP policies and still provide some closure for those who read the article on the crash. Thanks. Great job. Thanks again! Edison 16:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

My RfA

Okay, I completely had a terrible relapse, and I haven't been able to even open my computer since the 11th. What do you advise for the RfA? Should it go on now, or should I maybe try to make some good edits, and wait a few days?  hmwith  talk 13:54, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey Walton, thanks for the offer. I hope you understand. The offer was still very welcome, and it was a great honour to have such a suggestion projected from you to me. Cheers -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 21:24, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

reminder to mentor

Hola Mentors!

Im sending you this reminder because you volunteered to mentor my students in English Advanced B as they become contributing members of the Wikipedia community. We start working with Wikipedia in earnest next week. I ask you to take a look at your entry in the Mentor Table at Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Mentors

Please update the information, esp. with what your technical and informational expertise is or, if you have decided that you no longer want to participate, please remove your information from the table. Please watch the pages associated with the project. Students will contact you via your user page and as soon as my students have user pages, I will put them on the navigation bar associated with the project.

I don’t need to remind you that your job is NOT to write their assignments for them, of course. I certainly will tell my students that… and the fact that you are volunteers that don’t have to help them… so they need to be nice. If any students misbehave (tho I don’t expect it) don’t hesistate to contact me and I will take care of it. The goal of this project is to integrate successfully into the Wikipedia community. Anyway… what I really need your help with is helping students get oriented to Wikipedia, make appropriate changes and write about appropriate topics (see Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Syllabus for assignments). I also need your technical expertise… I am only an English teacher after all! I appreciate what technology does for us but I am no technical expert!

Again, thank you for volunteering and you will hear from us again soon! Thelmadatter 19:38, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Thelmadatter

DRV flames are not helping

Your needlessly inflammatory rhetoric at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 August 29#User:Rickyrab/New Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense is likely to cause the deletion to be strongly endorsed. Do me a favor, and stay off my side. —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 12:48, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

I just saw your second apology to Radiant. I want to commend you for realizing that you've made a mistake, and then having the courage to apologize for it. Unfortunately, as far as this DRV goes, I think the damage is already done.  :-( • FWIW, I don't think you need to resign your adminship or stop editing. —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 13:17, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
  • I don't think you should resign your adminship (or editorship) either, I just hope you will take greater care (and/or use the preview button) with such comments in the future. >Radiant< 14:36, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

otra maestra que quiere trabajar con Wikipedia

Hola! en la página de mentores escribiste que tienes experiencia con Wikipedia en español. Ahora hay otra maestra (la jefa del depto. del español) que tienes interés en Wikipedia alla. Matthew's RfC

I guess we could do that. I'll admit I'm not super-excited at the thought of rewriting the whole thing, especially per Majorly's comments that this is almost guaranteed to be pointless. On the other hand, it would probably be a pretty strong indication for future reference that attempts have been made to calm him down. Pascal.Tesson 21:02, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Save the trivia

You said that making rules is for the community, I already tried taking down trivia boxes. It didn't work. --Alien joe 18:00, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks...
Thank you for showing your support for me in my recent RfA. Unfortunately, I was unable to earn the required consensus and did not succeed. I do hope to put in another request in a few months, once I have improved upon the concerns addressed by the rest of the participants. Your expressed trust in me will definitely help me reach that goal. Thank you again, and happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:30, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
