WikiCup 2014 September newsletter

In one month's time, we will know our WikiCup 2014 champion. Newcomer Godot13 (submissions) has taken a strong lead with a featured list (historical coats of arms of the U.S. states from 1876) and a raft of featured pictures. Reigning champion Cwmhiraeth (submissions) is in second place with a number of high-importance biology articles, including new FA Isopoda and new GA least weasel. Casliber (submissions), who is in his fifth WikiCup final, is in third, with featured articles Pictor and Epacris impressa.

Signups for the 2015 WikiCup are open. All Wikipedians, new and experienced, are warmly invited to sign up for the competition. Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may also like to sign up for the GA Cup, a new WikiCup-inspired competition which revolves around completing good article reviews. Hi. Hope you're well. I noticed that you edited TRM's comments by closing them as resolved with these edits:[[1]] [[2]] I assume good faith but you should not modify other people's contributions. TRM should add the "resolved" it if it's resolved and in any case the closing delegate will check that all comments have been resolved so you don't need to make it clear.

Also, your comment asking whether it's ready to be closed, please be patient, the delegates go through the lists and usually check quite frequently for candidates to promote, you've done really well to get "four supports" in 2 weeks (normally can take more than a month) so I advice you to sit tight and get working on other projects for example you could now nominate another FLC if you're working on one. I'm so sorry Cowlibob, it's just people have hidden my comments before so I thought it was ok after a week or so. On your second point, I was looking through the FAC log and noticed someone had done what I did so I thought it was ok. I'll revert now. No worries. I know you didn't have malicious intent but someone who did could easily decide to "resolve" comments when there was a disagreement and a delegate could forget to check this. FLC runs slower than FAC as currently the bot doesn't work so all FLCs are closed manually. So when a delegate writes a closing comment, feel free to add the FL star to the list but don't modify the talk page or the discussion. Cowlibob (talk) 08:25, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
