If you're going to add something to the Yom Kippur War article (or to any other article for that matter), be aware that this particularly is a featured article, so any addition you make will be removed unless you back up the information you added with inline citations of reliable sources (see:Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Reliable sources). I understand your sources are online. In that case take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources#Links and ID numbers.

This should get you started. I'm sorry if it's a lot of reading, but its important that you familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's guidelines. If another user challenges your additions to an article, discuss the matter on the article's talk page, and try to stay out of edit wars.

Unfortunately, the Yom Kippur War article is protected because of almost regular acts of vandalism by anonymous users. Once your account reaches a certain minimum age (approximately 5+ days) and mimimum number of edits (around 15) you can edit it. It shouldn't be too difficult to reach those milestones.

If you like, you can give me those sources and I'll see what I can add. However I encourage you to do this yourself.

By the way, I'm curious; how did you know I was interested in the Yom Kippur War?

Hmm... Interesting. The Soviet and American estimates are indeed in Hasan el-Badri's book, and they are in the Yom Kippur War article as such. Let me know of anything else that's interesting in that source. I'll add it soon enough (but can you give tell me what's the title?). As for your questions:

1- The Mansourah air battle is mentioned several times in the Wikipedia, as in the article about the Egyptian Air Force, all based on the acig site. I can't tell you why it hasn't been written yet. Personally I wanted to create the article, but I am waiting until I got a book entitled Pheonix Over the Nile, which is supposed to contain details of the air battle. However, this doesn't mean you can't go ahead yourself and create the article.

2- The problem with photographs is the copyright (remember Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia, so any photographs added to Wikipedia must be in the public domain). Probably all photographs of the war are copyrighted so far. --Sherif9282 (talk) 07:22, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

There is no problem with adding the Arab estimates. It's just that when you add them, you will need to cite a source, and when citing the source you will have to mention the title of your source. As for you photographs, (100s of photos! Must be a great collection) you can only know their copyright if you know their source (ie: the website you got them from, it should include information concerning the copyright). Photographs from forums are not accepted however. As for the Mansoura air battle, I've finished writing it. I mainly used the acig website, and another book which has some information relating to the battle in general. That book you have, is it by Simon Dunstan (The Yom Kippur War, 1973)? Obviously whichever book you have it is probably copyrighted. But I think you can upload one or two pictures at most, under a fair use license. To get an idea of what an image under a fair use license is, take a look at this picture in the Ofira Air Battle. I think its possible to upload images to the Yom Kippur War article or elsewhere under this license. You should include this template in the image's summary: Template:Non-free use rationale#note-portion, just like the one in the Ofira Air Battle picture. Take a look here to see what you should include in the template:Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline.

If the book you have is the one made by Simon Dunstan, a portion of it is available at Google books here, so you might want to get the picture from the google link rather than scan.

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa.
