Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello Trampikey/Archive, welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

You might like some of these links and tips:

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alf melmac 09:11, 30 October 2005 (UTC).

Eastenders Images

Hi Trampikey / Josh. You may want to look at Images for Deletion, where a number of images you uploaded are being discussed. Proto t c 14:46, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Ruby allen.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ruby allen.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Nv8200p (talk) 17:23, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

You have other images that are not sourced also. Please source them or they will have to be deleted. -Thanks Nv8200p (talk) 17:25, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Eastenders Characters

Hi, I noticed you're updating a lot of Eastenders stuff, was just wondering whether giving Sid his own article is really necessary, he only appeared for like 5 minutes in one episode. (Sadisticality 10:19, 13 November 2005 (UTC))

Barnstar

I already have one thanks! :P I don't think I really deserve a minor one! And I wouldn't like to give you one early for the sake of it, I know you're quite new! I was editing for a few months before I got my main one, if you want one the only thing I can suggest is to try and write useful stuff with lots of information, whilst I'm an EastEnders fan, and would like more articles on EastEnders - I think you create too many new pages that are easy to put lots of information in!

Also all the images you uploaded I did have a problem with because they're all from the EastEnders website! There's more imaginitive ways, just going through forums you can find people have images/ screenshots and are usually happy to allow use.

There's lots of writing to be done on EastEnders, I notice you focus mainly on characters though? You could be good at creating an article something like 'The Mitchell Family', detailing a bit of history and stuff about them and their roles etc... though I've also been thinking there should be something about EastEnders at Christmas, since it set that trend of big storylines at Christmas for British soaps with Angie and Den. Ever since its EastEnders that's been the focus, people expect them depressing christmas's that it does so well! That's just a few ideas though but there are loads which are seen to be more important than character one's. I'm sure you're easily capable of it, I'd like to put more effort in but I don't have much free time now!

I'm sure you'll get a star in time, but remember it's quality not quantity!

Oh and by the way I'm glad you joined the EastEnders project, I was just going to suggest that!

Kind regards, EastEnders the great 17:12, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Eastender images

Please add sources to all the Eastender images listed on wp:ifd if you want to keep them. I will have to delete images with no source. --Nv8200p talk 15:22, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

easterenders & image sourcing.

G'day there. Just a friendly hint, you need to source (and tag) the images you upload, or they will be deleted. Also, bit-part East Ender characters probbably dont each need their own page, have you considered one page for all of them?, and then perhaps expand each character out if they become mainstays? Copyright

Thank you for trying to improve Wikipedia. You are welcome. However, we cannot accept copyright matrial. Please do not upload any material which is copied from another website. We can accept screenshots -- so long as they are genuine screenshots, and are not publicity stills. Please stop using the tags {{dont know}} and {{somewebsite}}. If you are unsure, it's better not to upload anything, or at least ask an experienced wikipedian's advice first. Otherwise it creates a lot more work for work for others and is detrimental to the project. Please do leave a note on my talk page if you'd like any advice. The JPS 00:19, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

royal pages

Please do not bold personal names and surnames on royal articles. That is not the standard format followed on pages. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 22:54, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Asian

Hi, I've been seeing a few of your articles, thought you might like to know Asian takes a capittal letter. Regards, Rich Farmbrough. 22:51, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Carla Mitchell

Does a character mentioned once or twice in a programme, but never shown, and possibly never will be shown deserve their own article? Normally an article like this would be deleted, but I think it is easier to redirect to the Grant Mitchell page, where this person can be discussed. Astrotrain 12:25, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Freddie mitchell.jpg

Thanks for uploading [[:Image:Freddie mitchell.jpg]]. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you.Rossrs 11:57, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
