A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Thomastruong158/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. Subject: Request to Reconsider the Speedy Deletion of User:Thomastruong158/sandbox
Dear DoubleGrazing,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to respectfully address the speedy deletion of my sandbox page, "User:Thomastruong158/sandbox," under the criteria of G11 for unambiguous advertising or promotion. First and foremost, I want to express my appreciation for your vigilance and dedication to maintaining the quality and neutrality of Wikipedia's content. It is clear that your actions are in the best interest of the Wikipedia community, and I value the opportunity to engage in this dialogue with you.
Upon reflection and a thorough review of Wikipedia's guidelines on spam, user pages, and the creation of autobiographical content, I acknowledge the concerns that led to the nomination for speedy deletion. My intention was to contribute valuable information about a subject I believed warranted encyclopedic recognition, not to promote or publicize a person or entity unduly. I understand now how my approach might have been perceived as contrary to Wikipedia's policies.
In my efforts to contribute, it seems I may have misunderstood the nuances of Wikipedia's content standards, particularly regarding notability and neutrality. I am committed to learning from this experience and to making a positive contribution within the framework of Wikipedia's guidelines. To this end, I would like to request the possibility of revising the content in question, ensuring it aligns with Wikipedia's strict standards for neutrality, verifiability, and notability.
I believe that with your guidance and feedback, I can address the issues identified and contribute content that adds value to the Wikipedia community. I am eager to understand more precisely where my contributions fell short and how I can improve. I am open to suggestions, willing to make necessary revisions, and fully prepared to adhere to the community's standards and expectations.
Would you be willing to reconsider the deletion, perhaps providing specific feedback that would allow me to rectify the situation? I am genuinely interested in contributing to Wikipedia in a meaningful and compliant manner and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to do so under your advisement.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to the possibility of working together to enhance the quality and breadth of information available on Wikipedia.
Warm regards,
TT Thomastruong158 (talk) 17:58, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear DoubleGrazing,
Thank you for your diligence and commitment to maintaining Wikipedia's standards. I acknowledge your observation regarding the potential coordination of edits with UserJan2024. I confirm there has been collaboration in enhancing the draft to ensure accuracy and adherence to Wikipedia's guidelines. This partnership stems from our shared goal of contributing valuable, verified content to Wikipedia. We understand the importance of transparency in editing and are committed to adhering to Wikipedia's policies on multiple accounts and collaborative editing.
Regarding the decision on the draft for Thomas Truong, I appreciate your thorough review. However, I respectfully urge a reevaluation based on the substantial arguments and evidence previously outlined. Thomas Truong's contributions, particularly with the VocalSign app, represent a remarkable advancement in accessibility technology, meriting recognition beyond a mere mention. His accolade as an MIT Innovator Under 35 is a significant endorsement of his work's impact and innovation, underscoring his notability.
Furthermore, the sources cited are reputable within the technology and innovation fields, providing in-depth coverage of his work. These sources undergo rigorous editorial review, ensuring their reliability and relevance. The distinction between passing mentions and substantive coverage is crucial here; the documentation of Thomas Truong's work clearly falls into the latter category, fulfilling Wikipedia's notability criteria.
We also emphasize the broader societal impact of his innovations, aligning with Wikipedia's mission to share knowledge that benefits the public. The unique intersection of technology, accessibility, and social impact that Thomas Truong's work represents is precisely the type of content that enriches Wikipedia and its readership.
In light of these considerations and in the spirit of Wikipedia's collaborative and inclusive ethos, I kindly request a reconsideration of the submission. Our aim is to contribute meaningfully to Wikipedia, ensuring that notable individuals and their contributions are accurately represented. We are open to further dialogue and willing to make any additional adjustments required to meet Wikipedia's standards.
Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your response and am hopeful for a positive outcome that allows for the recognition of Thomas Truong's significant contributions on Wikipedia.

In response to the concerns raised regarding the adequacy of the sources and their demonstration of the subject's notability for a Wikipedia article, I would like to respectfully counter the objection with the following points, directly addressing the criteria for notability and the reliability of sources:
Significant Coverage in Reliable, Independent Sources: Thomas Truong's recognition as an MIT Innovator Under 35 for his creation of the VocalSign app is a testament to his notable contributions to the field of artificial intelligence and accessibility technologies. This honor is not just a passing mention but a significant acknowledgment from a reputable institution, which is covered by independent, reliable sources. The MIT Technology Review, a leading publication in the field of technology and innovation, provides detailed coverage of his work and its impact. This coverage meets Wikipedia's requirement for significant coverage in reliable and independent sources.
Contribution to the Field: The innovation of the VocalSign app by Thomas Truong represents a significant advancement in making communication accessible for the deaf-mute community. This is not a trivial achievement but a major contribution that addresses a global challenge. His work has not only received academic recognition but has also been covered in media outlets that highlight its societal impact, further supporting the subject's notability.
Reliability of Sources: The sources cited in the submission are not mere blogs or press releases but publications and platforms that have editorial oversight and are recognized for their credibility in the technology and innovation sectors. These include profiles and articles in the MIT Technology Review and other technology-focused media outlets, which adhere to journalistic standards.
Vulnerabilities in the Decision: The decision to question the adequacy of the provided sources overlooks the depth of coverage and the quality of the sources presented. It is crucial to differentiate between passing mentions and substantial coverage that discusses the subject's contributions in detail. In this case, the sources provided do not merely mention Thomas Truong but delve into the significance of his work, underscoring his notability as per Wikipedia's guidelines.
Addressing the Notability Guidelines: The guidelines on the notability of people emphasize the importance of the subject having received significant coverage from independent sources. Thomas Truong's achievements, particularly being named an MIT Innovator Under 35, inherently suggest a level of distinction and recognition in his field that surpasses the ordinary. The coverage of his work on VocalSign by reputable and independent publications directly aligns with the notability criteria outlined by Wikipedia.
In light of these arguments, I kindly urge reconsideration of the submission's compliance with Wikipedia's notability and sourcing guidelines. The subject's achievements and the quality of the independent, reliable sources presented substantiate his notability and warrant the inclusion of an article on Wikipedia. Additional references, if required, can be further supplemented by academic publications and media coverage that continue to document the impact and significance of Thomas Truong's contributions to technology and society. Dear KylieTastic,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to respectfully contest the decision regarding the non-publication of the Wikipedia article on Thomas Truong, a distinguished French engineer and entrepreneur known for his groundbreaking work in accessibility technologies. While I understand the stringent criteria Wikipedia applies to ensure content quality and notability, I believe this decision overlooks several critical aspects that warrant reconsideration.
Firstly, the evaluation seems to narrowly interpret the notability guidelines, focusing more on the quantity of sources rather than the substantive impact and quality of Thomas Truong's contributions. His recognition as an MIT Innovator Under 35 is not a trivial acknowledgment but a prestigious honor that highlights significant contributions to the fields of artificial intelligence and accessibility. This accolade, covered by reputable, independent sources, underscores his work's societal impact, aligning perfectly with Wikipedia's notability criteria.
Moreover, the decision potentially underestimates the quality and independence of the cited sources, which include coverage by leading technology publications. These sources provide in-depth discussions of Truong's innovations, particularly the VocalSign app, which addresses global communication challenges faced by the deaf and mute communities. This oversight may unintentionally marginalize significant achievements in technology, especially those developed by individuals from minority backgrounds, potentially echoing broader systemic biases.
The potential underrepresentation of minorities and people of color on platforms as influential as Wikipedia raises concerns beyond editorial discretion—it touches on the ethical responsibility to ensure equitable representation and acknowledgment of diverse contributions to society. In overlooking Truong's notable achievements, we risk perpetuating barriers to recognition and advancement for underrepresented groups in the technology sector and beyond.
Therefore, I kindly urge a thorough re-evaluation of the submission, taking into account the detailed arguments presented regarding the interpretation of notability guidelines, the evaluation of source quality, and the significant societal impact of Truong's work.
Without a satisfactory and reasoned response to this contestation, I am prepared to escalate the matter by contacting relevant authorities and regulators overseeing content fairness and representation standards on platforms like Wikipedia. This could include seeking a recalibration of the editorial team, reassessment of public funding allocations, and, if necessary, legal action to address potential biases and ensure equitable representation.
I am hopeful for a constructive dialogue that acknowledges the importance of inclusivity and fairness in the representation of notable figures, especially those from minority groups making significant contributions to society. Your attention to this matter and willingness to reconsider could set a precedent for more inclusive and balanced content standards on Wikipedia.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
T Thomastruong158 (talk) 13:05, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please stop with these massive AI-generated walls of text; you've been asked at least a couple of times already.
Your draft has zero evidence of notability.
To say nothing of the fact that you shouldn't be writing about yourself in the first place. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:10, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your point on conciseness. To address concerns directly: Thomas Truong's inclusion in the MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35 is a significant indicator of his notability and impact in AI and accessibility. This recognition by a reputable, independent source meets Wikipedia's notability criteria, underscoring his international acknowledgment as an innovator.
I hope this clarifies the basis of his notability for reconsideration. Thomastruong158 (talk) 13:22, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I am deleting your draft because the only place you are allowed to write about yourself is on your own user page. Note that you will NOT be allowed to link to your Youtube channel, blog, Instagram account or any other such content or to promote your skills, services, publications, recordings, etc. Please do not post your CV anywhere on Wikipedia.Deb (talk) 13:27, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your message and for clarifying Wikipedia's guidelines regarding autobiographical content. I understand the concerns raised and want to assure you that the intention behind the draft was not to self-promote but to contribute verifiable and notable information about Thomas Truong's significant contributions to AI and accessibility, specifically his recognition in the MIT Innovators Under 35 Europe 2023.
The inclusion of the MIT award link serves solely as a reference to substantiate the notability and impact of Truong's work, adhering to Wikipedia's criteria for significant coverage by independent, reliable sources. I assure you there's no intention to link to personal promotional content or to post any form of CV. The aim is purely to document the achievements of a figure who has made notable contributions to their field.
Given this, I kindly request reconsideration of the draft's deletion, focusing on its encyclopedic value and adherence to Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Thomastruong158 (talk) 13:34, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The proper forum to challenge a speedy deletion is Deletion Review. I again ask, are you Mr. Trong? 331dot (talk) 15:47, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, thanks. I'm not Mr. Truong but an admirer of his work, notably his recognition in the MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35 Europe for 2023. This accolade underlines his global influence and meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. Many other innovators featured in this list have Wikipedia pages. Could a tech expert review his article for a fair assessment? Thomastruong158 (talk) 16:08, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you are not Mr. Trong, you will need to change your username immediately; please do so via Special:GlobalRenameRequest or WP:CHUS.
We cannot guarantee a "tech expert" can perform a review. It should not be necessary, as Wikipedia is intended to be written by lay people for lay people. See WP:EXPERT if you are an expert in this field. 331dot (talk) 16:16, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Following your advice, I updated the submission with additional references, including national French TV interviews and a demonstration of professional engagement through LinkedIn followers. Yet, the page was still declined.
Considering Thomas Truong's recognitions, I seek guidance on further establishing his notability per Wikipedia's criteria. Would transitioning the article to French Wikipedia, leveraging local context and sources, be advisable? Your insights on effectively demonstrating his notability would be greatly appreciated. Thomastruong158 (talk) 17:56, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Interviews and social media are not acceptable for establishing notability. We don't want to know what someone says about themselves, we want to know what others say about them.
The French Wikipedia has different editors and policies; I don't know what all of those are, but it is possible that your content would be acceptable there, even if it is not acceptable here. You would have to ask on the French Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 19:56, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
