Questions needed answers

• How do I stop a bot (such as the one Sagaciousuk used) from changing/monitoring my own talk page?
  
• Secondly, if what Sagaciousuk is correct in changing other people's talk pages is a violation, what gives him the right to do the same?

... another user Teragram signed up with my name provably two days after I created mine. That user has since had their account blocked. I worry that someone will try to find me by typing user:teragram or user:Teragram and wind up seeing that block and then possibly thinking that was actually me. Can I get that page deleted?

• Hi there. I'll address each issue for you:

1. You cannot stop a bot from editing your page. Bots have to be approved by a bureaucrat to operate, so please assume good faith that they are working in your best interest.
2. Changing other people's talk page is not a violation, provided you do not removing warning or relevant content. Reorganization and those sorts of things are acceptable. You should notify the user immediately before or after changes, out of courtesy.
3. User:Teragram was blocked on January 22, 2006[1] by the now departed User:Lucky 6.9. I wouldn't worry much at all about that and account confusion with you; it's old history. Userpages can be deleted, however that is only done in by the request of the user by the Right to vanish. Username accounts themselves cannot ever be deleted.

Technical restrictions placed on names prevents any user or article name from starting with a lowercase letter. That being said, any other combination of your username is possible as the names are case sensitive. If you are truly concerned about impersonators, read over Wikipedia:Doppelganger account on how you can protect alternate names. Teke ^(talk) 21:59, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Deleted Images

I am totally with you on your comments about RHaworth. He deleted some of my images as well, telling me to change the license. Well, I decided to keep uploading with the license as "Free for educational use" and give permission to Wikipedia. As for Mr. Grumpy, he needs to learn a bit about tact, and maybe people would be nicer to him, and he would be less grumpy. Bytebear 23:01, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Cut & Paste move of Lifeless

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Lifeless a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.
