An exciting opportunity to get involved!

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 04:44, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Wage slavery

This editor who has used multiple identities in the past, has returned User talk:Mr3003nights to the Wage slavery article (see discussion page), with apparently no regard for recent editing choices and their consequences in relation to prior editing methods and interaction. This looks to signal another round of annoying and disruptive edits and discussions on the talk page, that are also unproductive and disruptive, as to the stability of the article, which fairs ok when this editor is not so much editing it. Thank you for your interest and attention previously. skip sievert (talk) 16:56, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:Stanfordchurch-ascension.jpg

File:Stanfordchurch-ascension.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Stanfordchurch-ascension.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Stanfordchurch-ascension.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 07:28, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

FYI

Please see Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection#Template:Cleanup-spam_.28edit.7Ctalk.7Chistory.7Clinks.7Cwatch.7Clogs.29 for a request to lower the protection level for a template you protected. Debresser (talk) 21:23, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

You don't have to be so bitter about the protection. To explain, the template was used in Today's Featured Article for whatever date it was protected -- I suppose December 30, 2006. At that time, there was a lot of vandalism to templates used on Today's Featured Article (so that people seeing Wikipedia's most prominent page would see something extraordinarily objectionable). We didn't have several of the features that exist today -- cascading protection or timed protection -- so someone (in this case, me) would have been wise to protect the templates used in Today's Featured Article and then, hopefully, remember to remove the protection after the article was no longer Today's Featured Article. -- tariqabjotu 23:21, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, if I made you think like I feel you did something "wrong". I don't. And thank you for the explanation. Now I understand better what happened. So I'll have a look at the unprotection request to see whether it is indeed time to reconsider. Debresser (talk) 06:29, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Per the log, you protected the article for 0 seconds, not 6 months.—Kww(talk) 18:35, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Um... I think you messaged the wrong person. I protected the article for ten days two weeks ago. -- tariqabjotu 19:09, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
You're right: it wasn't you applying the wrong protection, it was Moni3 not applying protection at all.—Kww(talk) 19:13, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Involved

Hi Tariqabjotu. I noticed you closed the requests made regarding edit-warring (both mine and the one filed by Lanternix against me). While I'm not going to appeal the decisions you made, I want to state for the record once again, that I view you to be an involved admin when it comes to cases involving me, or the Israeli-Palestinian editing arena. I believe I have written as much to you previously. i would appreciate it in the future if you would leave any cases in which i am involved or in which i-p issues are involved to other admins to deal with. thanks. Tiamuttalk 09:05, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

I am not going to heed your request, in particular your request to stay out of any cases related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. You have tried so often to paint me as an ideologue, based primarily, it seems, on the fact that I have disagreed with you on a few content issues. I don't take your opinion on that seriously, and I'm certainly not going to take your directive here seriously. I believe I have done a very good job of keeping my opinions on the conflict to myself and off Wikipedia, and, while you may think otherwise, I'm not going to base my editorial and administrative decisions based on your grudge. -- tariqabjotu 20:20, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Happy Birthday and Happy Holidays to you!!!

File:18th Birthday.jpg Hey, Tariqabjotu. Just stopping by to wish you a Happy Birthday from the Wikipedia Birthday Committee!
Have a great day!
