Suzwriter! I appreciate you coming to wikipedia and putting a lot of energy into your first article. We can always use people willing to make an effort.

Having said that, the article is going to need more effort if it is to remain. Some of the problems are merely clean-up; it seems like you had a number of different versions of some of the material you developed, and that the same material is basically repeated again and again. Some of the problems are simply tweaks needed for Wikipedia style, such as we don't constantly refer to someone by their title. These things are all clean-upable, and really don't even rest on you doing so.

However, there are two more central problems with the article. One is that it's written in a very promotional tone, as if the goal is to sell the reader on Dr. Lau. Wikipedia is here to inform, not to promote. The other main problem is that it has few sources, particularly third-party sources about Dr. Lau. This is vital, because it goes to the question of what Wikipedia calls "notability", which is not a matter so much of whether something is worth talking about as it is a question of whether other vital information sources are talking about it. Wikipedia avoids articles on people who aren't notable, and it's not clear that there are sources talking about Lau to establish his notability. If you can find some articles from reliable, third-party sources that are written about Dr. Lau, that will go a long way to both verifying the information in the article and establishing his notability. --Nat Gertler (talk) 15:00, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nat Gertler, friendly Wiki Editor! I am at a complete loss about how to reply to your message so hope you find my reply here. Is this where I discuss my article with you? You are invited to email me directly as well since I am new to Wiki. Would having a link to scanned degrees, or testimonials from clients help? I will also do the research for more links and will rewrite the article later tonight if this is okay with you? -- Suzwriter (Suzanne)

I'm keeping an eye on your talk page, so if you post something here, I will see it eventually (although my life may be hectic over the next few days.) It's better to post on the article's talk page -- go to it, and click the link for Discussion at the top of the page. No, customer testimonials would not be appropriate; that again would seem to be material designed to promote Lau. Nor are scans of his degrees... but the fact that you have access to such things opens up the question of whether you are connected to Lau, either in a business sense or in a familial sense. If you are, then you probably shouldn't be putting up an article at all; Wikipedia heavily discourages editors with a conflict of interest. --Nat Gertler (talk) 15:59, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

photo[edit]

For the life of me I can't find the person who had a question about the photo I am using on the page. I sent an email to Kevin Lau and received an auto reply that I want to share with the person I now cannot locate about the photo permission. Lau has communicated he is fine with my writing a wiki page for him but now is out of the office w/limited email access until July 30; what do I do? thanks Suzwriter (talk) 23:15, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The concerns about the photo are expressed on the photo's page. --Nat Gertler (talk) 23:26, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

update i found the person about the photo Suzwriter (talk) 23:42, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

out of the office reply i have received an auto-responder message from Kevin Lau that he is out of the office until July 30 with limited email access. I was sending him an email with photo permission, interview questions, and now don't expect to write a whole lot of new information until he returns. I did not expect his being out of the office. Suzwriter (talk) 23:52, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

wiki commons navigation how do i get out of the wiki commons page? I seem to get stuck in the wiki commons page until I type wikipedia.org in my browser and start all over again to get to Kevin Lau's page. Suzwriter (talk) 23:55, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

permission to use photo granted Kevin Lau emailed me back that I may use his photo with a cc license. Where do I forward you his email? Suzwriter (talk) 13:41, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of File talk:About-kevin.jpg[edit]

Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/File talk:About-kevin.jpg and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of File talk:About-kevin.jpg during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:42, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Suzwriter, I deleted the page File talk:About-kevin.jpg and was asked to explain why to you I did so to you.
The page was a talk page for a file without a file associated with it. As such, it served no useful purpose to the encyclopedia. Was there at one time a file associated with the page that was deleted?
With regard to your question that was on that page ("Is the photo attribution Attribution-ShareAlike Creative Commons okay for wiki?"). Yes, that license is perfect for the wiki. It is the licensee that Wikipedia uses.

For starters, I don't think this page should be deleted since the chiropractor has brought a new voice to the field of health and treating the human body -- he has made the claim that all health issues can be cured with targeted diet and exercise -- a huge contribution and poses a different perspective to western medicine. removing blacklisted links[edit]

help Okay, I tried to add a citation that is blacklisted. I went to the page to request a URL be unblacklisted but the page is not publishing my request. I want to unblacklist the link: http:// (and then) ezinearticles (dot) com (and then the rest of the link is:) /?Importance-of-Probiotics-for-Everyone&id=6405019 as part of Kevin Lau's views section. What can I do next to rectify this? Suzwriter (talk) 22:55, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kevin Lau, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Calton | Talk 15:07, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
