Speedy deletion of Stanley Sambey[edit]

A tag has been placed on Stanley Sambey requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Jfire (talk) 16:10, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Stanley Sambey article[edit]

Hi, you need to provide reliable sources that can verify the notability of the articles' subject. As you have admitted the article is about yourself, there may be a conflict of interest, as such it might be an idea to ask for the article to be created for you at articles for creation instead.

Hope this helps. Cheers, Nk.sheridan   Talk 20:36, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm not arguing that you are not notable. My argument is that you have not established that you are notable in this article. If you've been covered by reliable second or third party publications then all you need to do is provide references to these in the article. If you are unsure how to do this then just send me the links for them and I'll do it personally.
The process which your article has now been subjected to, WP:AfD, allows other editors to examine said article and make their own conclusions as regards its inclusion in wikipedia. The article will not be deleted until a consensus is reached amongst editors. Please have a look at its entry at AfD here and don't hesitate to add your own views.
Thanks, Nk.sheridan   Talk 21:05, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
