Hi, if you leave a message underneath this I can reply to you. If you follow the guidance at the top of the article, you will be able to use that to improve it. Please add a reference to your article within 7 days! See the big red box on the article for more info :) St170e (talk) 01:00, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

Page Move

Why did you move the page ETAS to ETAS (disambiguation)? There doesn't seem to be a primary topic for ETAS. Did you have a reason for it? KJ Discuss? 23:56, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

I just reviewed this newly created page and there appears to be four articles that could match up with ETAS. There is the ETAS Group mentioned, but also EtAS, Eloise: The Animated Series and a article relating to ETA (the Basque terrorist group). I felt that it would be a lot better suited if (disambiguation) was in the title to differentiate between the four and to help distinguish the page as a disambiguation page. I changed it out of my own personal viewpoint, but if you really wanted to, you could change it back to ETAS. st170e (talk) 00:01, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Please be noted that, per WP:DABNAME, disambiguation pages should only have the format 'name (disambiguation)' only if there is a primary topic, either at 'name' or a redirect target for 'name.' If you're not sure, it might be better to ask a creator of the page or someone else. I'll nominate ETAS for deletion for the move. Regards. KJ Discuss? 00:14, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Apologies, I was under the assumption that EtAS was a primary topic and could have conflicted. st170e (talk) 00:17, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

I have irrefutable evidence that the primary editor of the content of this page (Joemeservy)is the owner of a promotional company that represents the artists he is documenting in the article. I have reached out to the editor, and since then, all edits have become anonymous. I believe we have a problem with the page, and perhaps it should be either deleted, or seriously vetted by an admin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.173.230.102 (talk) 01:11, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi, you should discuss this on the talk page of the article. Please don't resort to removing content of the article! Discussion is better. You can suggest deletion on there. st170e (talk) 01:15, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Fair enough, but suggest it to whom? The promoter that is writing all of the promotional content that is so blatantly promotional? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.173.230.102 (talk) 01:18, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Suggest it on the talk page in general, to all editors. Open a discussion. You can also revamp the page yourself (although not blanking it, discuss it on the talk page first though please). st170e (talk) 01:21, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Subject: Proposed deletion of Asokan Charuvil

Hi, I have added enough references for my article about asokan charuvil (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asokan_Charuvil) Please do not delete that article. And you can inform me if you have any concerns. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajacharuvil (talkcontribs) 18:22, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your message. I've proposed the deletion because there were no references. I've checked out the page and there still aren't any references. You need to use the REF code properly after each sentence so that a [1] appears. I'm going to add a reference list to your page for you. Please put the reference after each sentence to which it refers to st170e (talk) 18:39, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your concern. Actually I am new to wiki so that didn't know how to add references. So I added list of references at the end og the articles altogether. If you are adding references to this articles I have no issues and that would be really helpful for me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajacharuvil (talkcontribs) 18:52, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Hi, there's a page on Wikipedia to help beginners to add references since it's vital for the existence of the encyclopaedia! You can find it here. I'll help out on the page wherever I can. Please note that if you have a valid reference, you may remove the notice, but only if you have used the REF code. If you need any help please don't hesitate to contact me :) st170e (talk) 18:55, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Derek Eland

Hello and thank you for your comments and guidance re. my first Wiki entry about artist Derek Eland. Unfamiliar as I am with creating and editing an entry, please could you tell me if some of the multiple issues showing on this entry are now resolved? (e.g. I have added a lead/introduction, I have added sections and I have added what I hope are good references.) I would like to follow and adhere to the guidelines and make this first Wiki entry as informative as possible.

Best, Debbie.M.Taylor (talk) 09:17, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

HI, I've checked the article for you. There still is no lead section, this must go at the very top of the page. I'll do this for you and remove it from the multiple issues box. You have also put the article into sections and I'll take this out. However, there is a requirement for more references to ensure the validity of the article and the points made. This is especially true for living people. You should continue to add references, and add links to this page to other related articles. This is so it can be integrated into the encyclopaedia. Your article is very good otherwise! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any issues or queries or need help. st170etalk 13:03, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Philip A. Flournoy page

Hello! And thank you for taking the time to review the page a drafted for my father, Physicist/Investment Manager/Entrepreneur Dr. Philip A. Flournoy. I debated doing this for quite some time, as I felt that drafting a page for a friend of family member is a bit of conflict of interest. However, in comparing Dr. Flournoy's accomplishments to pages of similar physicists, I felt the combinations of his patents and contributions to modern physics along with notable accomplishments in other areas far surpassed the content of several pages already on Wikipedia for similar American physicists.

So in the end I did not feel out of place submitting the article, and was a bit surprised at your response that his accomplishments are not worthy of note in encyclopedic media. Is it possible that I wasn't clear enough in summarizing the material, or perhaps the article is lacking references in an area that I could edit/embellish in order to make it more suitable? I realize I may not be 100% objective on this, and so of course I am happy to abide by your final decision if you believe the page unsuitable. But I'd be interested in any additional thoughts you are willing to offer up as justification.

Thanks again for your consideration, --Rflourno (talk) 14:07, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave this message. I've tried to access the article to jog my memory a bit on the exact page because I do speedily delete and/or propose deletions of new pages everyday since there is quite a backlog of pages needing reviewed. A conflict of interest only applies if the article violates the Wikipedia:Neutral point of view policy. I did review this article without knowing that you were a family member, however.
Since I can't access a draft of the article, I can't exactly give pointers as to where you went wrong, I'm afraid. An administrator also reviewed my deletion and did delete the article under A7 (article about an eligible subject, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). Please do not take this as an offence, your article was most likely deleted because it didn't specify the importance or significance, perhaps you should make this more clearer? Again, I can't comment on the individual case because I have requested at least 15 page deletions since yours. If you supply enough references (which many new articles on here lack, and are the main reason why they are deleted), then you should have no problem in the writing of your article. WP:BEFORE says that we must take reasonable steps to find some references to backup this article. It is most probable that there were insufficient references. A lot of new biographies do lack references and can sometimes lead to the article not explaining the significance.
I have no objection to you writing this article again. I would, however, advise you to ensure that the article is clear and shows the significance. A7 criteria does not allow for any notability issues, which questions if the article should even be on Wikipedia. A7 means that the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough. I would encourage you to write this article again. However, you must talk to the administrator DGG on their talk page first to ensure that you have permission to recreate the article.
Apologies for not being clear enough in the deletion of the article. st170etalk 15:45, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for such a quick & thoughtful response! I think I'll follow your recommendation and work through the administrator to see if I can recreate the article with more of a justification for its importance up front. Thanks again,
--Rflourno (talk) 17:25, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Duleep Menon page

Thanks for reviewing the page Duleep Menon and finding the flaws in it. A reference has been added to the page. The reference was added lately because the news about Mr.Duleep Menon arrived in the website only after some delay. A kindly request you to cancel the deletion of the page as it now does not violate the rule. Thanking you in anticipation. Xm1702 (talk) 17:30, 29 September 2014 (GMT)

Ken-ichi Kimura

Ken-ichi Kimura has one reference, in Japanese. Sufficient to keep, or not?--DThomsen8 (talk) 17:53, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

As long as there is a useful reference on a biography, it's fine. I've removed the deletion notice since a reference has been added, but the article definitely still has a lack of citations. st170etalk 18:51, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Ken-ichi Kimura

Hi, Thank you so much for your notices. I'm the one making Ken-ichi Kimura page. It's my first attempt, and I will improve it shortly. I am going to enlist his former students and Waseda University, associates, long time colleagues who would know better to add more references, both in Japanese and in English. Thank you so much for your patience! I don't quite know how to create wiki page (this is my first attempt) so I'm very sorry for being so awkward. Marikimura (talk) 20:43, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi there. Those notices are guidelines for improvement so that you know where you can improve your article. Please don't be sorry! It is your first time and I would be glad to assist you. If you need any help, please don't be afraid to ask me on my talk page. I would advise you to implement a structure into your article. After the lead section, it seems like a curriculum vitae (CV) as opposed to other biographies on Wikipedia. Other editors have contributed by reviewing your article (since it is still on the new pages feed, since it is still a new page) and have suggested the spelling, punctuation and grammar be fixed in some areas. I've also added a notice to suggest that you shorten the lead section down and put your article into sections. A Wikipedia article can never be perfect, but it can be close to! By following the suggestions that my fellow editors and I have published, then you can create a near-perfect article. Your lead section should be explicit and start off with why the subject is important, since this is a reason for other editors to request a deletion of your article (speedy deletion - A7).
I would recommend you use Wikipedia:Layout for guidelines on how to lay out your article. Hope this helps. st170etalk 21:20, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I'm OccultZone. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Franziska Fischer, and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 00:17, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Samas Aran change

The article left in the "see also" category is an opinion piece and holds no relevance to objective information, so I removed it. If wikipedia is supposed to be an unbiased objective information center it should stay as such or the "gender representation in video games" article should be revised to exclude opinion pieces as citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.52.40.163 (talk) 01:28, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

covered in gold

this artist is absolutely on wiki....enuff znuff is there, as are donnie vie and chip znuff....covered in gold is their new album. their other albums are also sited on wiki. so i was adding content to the covered in gold album description. this way fans know what the album is, and can then decide to purchase it.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francquie22 (talkcontribs) 16:00, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

You didn't link the artist with this album. Nevertheless, I have removed the speedy deletion notice and added tags for you to improve your article. st170etalk 16:02, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
i guess i dont know how to do that....if you go on to enuff znuff's page, there is their discography listed....and covered in gold was red, whilst the others were blue...so when i clicked on it, it said there was no information on the disc, so i added the information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francquie22 (talkcontribs) 19:49, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Innisfree

This article is by no means finished. It's true that information about the company is difficult to find, but that does not mean that it's insignificant. It means that it's secretive. It appears to effectively own at least a dozen NHS hospitals. NB Notability is a property of a subject and not of a Wikipedia article. Rathfelder (talk) 16:31, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

I have only proposed this deletion. If you feel like you can address my concern on the article, by all means, remove the template. My conclusion that the article isn't notable isn't because of the content, it's because of a lack of verifiable evidence which is required to establish notability per WP:IMPORTANCE. I've tried to find evidence for the article myself. Please remove the notice on the article if you intend on fixing this article, but please be aware that this article can be listed for deletion if the notability concerns aren't resolved. st170etalk 16:38, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

You are supposed to give a definition or leave a template to say that you are working on the page instead of creating an article with just a picture. I digress, but I'll remove the template and give you some more time to complete the article by un-reviewing it, so another editor can have a look later on. st170etalk 18:21, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Slavery in Antiquity

Hi there, thanks for the input on my changes to Slavery in antiquity. I'd appreciate your advice. I was using the page for a paper when I noticed that the references section included non-formatted entries that were not cited in the article. I delete these unused references. Do you think that's appropriate? (For future edits, I'll be sure to leave reasons. I'm new to editing!) DannyJGibson (talk) 18:50, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi there. I believe that edit is appropriate. Your edit was flagged up since you are a new editor and you removed a substantial amount of content. I'd like to welcome you to Wikipedia, and I will shortly post an official Welcome on your talk page! Usually, if you're removing content, please leave a reason. Now that you have explained your content removal, I'll undo my action on the page :). A lot of people usually don't leave summaries, but it's really important to do so, especially for removing because your good faith edit could be perceived as a disruptive edit. Happy editing! st170etalk 18:55, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the reminder about the references. I will be more careful in the future. The references are in place. On Tristan de L'Angle Beaumanoir article, I get it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DEMcAdams (talkcontribs) 20:07, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

You're welcome! A reminder, though, that you must add a reference within 7 days otherwise your article will be deleted. st170etalk 20:08, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
Paco Boublard has adequate references for the moment--they don't have to be in English, & to pass BLP:PROD, they don;t have to be 3rd party. Tristan de L'Angle Beaumanoir is unquestionably notable, with an excellent source. The position is equivalent to Governor of a US State, see WP:POLITICIAN. As reviewing admin, I of course didn't delete the article, & I removed the Prod. you might want to check WP:Deletion Policy, WP:CSD, and WP:BLPPROD. 05:37, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
There are enough references for me to write an article on my brother Stephen McAdams, a professor at McGill University. Is the relationship too close for me to write the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DEMcAdams (talkcontribs) 19:47, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

How do you know what to call a new article and

Now that you've given it the proper title can I still add more and where do I add it at the old name or the new? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burtonburtonburton (talkcontribs) 23:09, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

I changed the name because the name of a page can't include the title of the person, especially mayor since its temporary. There are a lot of Bill Harrison's on here so I decided to move the article. The old name will redirect to the new name. st170etalk 23:12, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
Can I still add to the page under its new name or am I finished until others have a chance? Very new to this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burtonburtonburton (talkcontribs) 23:15, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
Yes of course! You can edit anywhere and at any time on Wikipedia. st170etalk 23:18, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
I have turned the reference into the Wikipedia style. Please check it. Is it always so cutthroat so that Wikipedia deletes work just because the writer doesn't use ref tags??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burtonburtonburton (talkcontribs) 00:19, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
Articles about living people that have no references can be deleted after 7 days since it's strictly against the rules. This only applies to living people. Hi There.. Thanks for the reminder about the references.. I will add the references for Jv Manikanda balaji (About his working Experience as an associate editor)(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J.V_Manikanda_Balaji) but i have a doubt. he is a new comer as an editor.. still he don't have any articles or reference about his movies like (Idhayam Murali (2015 film), Kuthoosi (2015 film). Nagarvalam (2015 film) ) because all are upcoming movies(2015&16 release) so Please do not delete that article... I will the reference when it comes.. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjfredrick (talkcontribs) 12:14, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

Fedgov

I see your point regarding reading as a dictionary entry. I think this can be improved; and that in the end it will fill a void. Any ideas? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Allyourbasesrbelongtous (talkcontribs) 20:38, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi, unfortunately, I don't think this article would suit Wikipedia. It is more suited to the Wiktionary. Wikipedia isn't designed for definitions of terms such as 'FEDGOV'. st170etalk 20:43, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi St170e,

I noticed that you placed a BLPPROD on Darko Matic (basketball), and when the BLPPROD was removed, you replaced it with a comment saying that external links don't count. However, there were some external links in the article before the first BLPPROD tag was placed on it, which means the article can't be deleted by BLPPROD. The way the BLPPROD policy works is that even just an external link or unreliable source prevents the initial placement of a BLPPROD. If an article has no sources whatsoever (not even an external link or unreliable source), then a BLPPROD tag can be placed on it, and at that point the tag can only be removed if a reliable source is added. Basically, the standard for adding a BLPPROD and the standard for removing one are different. In this case the article can't be deleted by BLPPROD, but if you think it should be deleted for some other reason (such as lack of notability), feel free to nominate it for deletion using regular PROD or AFD. Back up your claim with a source, always. I've accepted your edit again, since you have now explained your actions on the article. You can't expect us to approve an un-sourced claim with no edit summary. st170etalk 14:37, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Sure I can. Five seconds of looking at the article would have saved you and me several minutes of time. Thanks for accepting it though. But also, no wonder people avoid wiki like the plague. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.195.29 (talk) 15:10, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Five seconds? Please. All claims must be backed up in order to prevent deliberate factual errors. The article in question has been subject to this and persistent vandalism and, thus, has been pending-changes protected. You are no exception. st170etalk 15:17, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
It was backed up with with refs already in the article, you just didn't bother to look. I made it more accurate. This was in no way vandalism. But you do what you want. I have better things to do that waste my time by being treated like this when I only made it more accurate with refs already in the article. No wonder wiki has such a lousy reputation of how it treats users. I won't be back here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.195.29 (talk) 15:25, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
You didn't leave an edit summary, though, and you must do this if you don't want your submission to be rejected. I did not say that your submission was vandalism, I said that the article has been subject to vandalism and therefore, we must be careful with approving edits. I rejected your edit because it wasn't sourced. st170etalk 15:31, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

Please advise which items require further corroboration. The key points have been corroborated, so we need guidance on items that you think need further corrob.

131.227.66.107 (talk) 11:29, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

I rejected this AfC because I believed it was improperly sourced. I would advise you to fix the lead section since it doesn't contain any references at all. The article almost exclusively uses primary sources and needs secondary sources (significant coverage) if it is to pass notability guidelines. Therefore, I would include media coverage of why this person is important, for example. It feels to me that this article is like a curriculum vitae for this person and I believe that it needs to be reorganised to comply with Wikipedia guidelines, starting with her projects - why are her projects notable (for example)? She is an architect, but what makes her so distinct? If you can add all this information into the next draft I'd be very happy to approve the article with at least a C-class rating. st170etalk 21:44, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Re Chloe Abbott

Hi St17oe - thanks for taking the time to review this page! I am not sure why you had difficulty with the sources but here are a few more. It is the 2003 World championships for Swimming (two athletes per nation as specified in FINA rules):

http://www.the-sports.org/chloe-abbott-swimming-spf269624.html http://www.hansonmediagroup.com.au/HansonSportsMedia-Archive/mediaDocs/AUSTRALIAN%20AQUATICS%20MEDIA%20GUIDE%20WEBSITE%20final.pdf (pg 23) http://www.fina.org/H2O/docs/results/barcelona2003/OW-W-10KM-F-00-FR.pdf (result pdf) https://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/news/aussie-open-water-team-selected-for-barcelona/ http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/2003-07-17-world-swimming_x.htm http://www.swimming.org.au/swimmer-nos.html (Australian representative swimming numbers)

Not sure if that was what you were after in terms of multiple sources. If still an issue - no problem - I'm only new to editing/creating so I am still working on things! Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by DRCEA (talkcontribs) 00:21, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, thank you for providing some references. You need to incorporate these into your article and resubmit for review so that another reviewer can review your article. I'll explain my reasons again for rejecting your article. There's a bit of a grey area in terms of notability for swimmers. On WP:SPORTCRIT there is a list of guidelines for each sport (excluding swimming) which shows when and where a sportsperson can be considered notable, thus being able to have a Wikipedia article. I'll leave this up to the next reviewer to decide. She came 18th in a contest, which isn't really that significant. If you spruce up this article with references though, I'm sure that it'd be approved. st170etalk 22:06, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice St170e - much appreciated. I was going through the Australian Swimming representative numbers and seeing which representatives had information on wikipedia. I might look at editing it and resubmitting or just leave it based on your advice that it may not be notable enough. Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by DRCEA (talkcontribs) 15:57, 19 October 2014 (UTC)

Draft: Zenon Software

Hi St170e,

the submission of my article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Zenon_Software has been declined. You suggest to add citations to secondary reliable sources that are entirely independent of the subject. I tried to have a look at other Wikipedia articles similar to mine in order to get an idea of how I could improve my article, but when I look at articles like this one for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinCC I don't really understand what I am doing wrong and why other articles with no secondary sources at all are still on Wikipedia.

Thank you for your help! Yours sincerely, CD33 (talk) 11:38, 15 October 2014 (UTC)CD33

You have no inline citations, only a list of external links at the bottom of the page. You need to use REF tags in your article. WinCC has 4 inline citations on its article. Sorry for the ambiguity. st170etalk 22:06, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Draft: ePACT

Thanks for the review re: ePACT. This is my first article so not sure what constitutes 'peacock' content. Until I get better at that, I took out a few section where I think it may have sounded promotional, and tweaked the remaining copy to be more 'encyclopedic' - I hope it worked, and resubmitted, so not sure if that goes back in for another review in a month, or if it's different process/timing for resubmit? And also if there are ideas on anything I should read to help with my future articles, would appreciate suggestions! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kim Macdonald (talkcontribs) 16:48, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I don't believe that the article was written in a formal tone. You need to use quotation marks if you are quoting the company, especially if it sounds promotional. I think that you have fixed the issue with regard to using promotional terms, however that is not for me to decide. You may resubmit your article at any time if you are finished. Since I've already rejected this article, I don't think it would be fair for me to review it once again, however I will provide my opinions on the article if you ask me to do so. I'll leave these on the article as a 'Comment'. There is a severe backlog of drafts that need reviewed, so I would expect the time scale of the next review to be quite lengthy. I would advise you to read WP:COMPANY, which deals with notability of companies on Wikipedia. st170etalk 22:06, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Re; DRAFT: Ronald J. Ross M.D. FACR

I had already been contacted by Fiddle Faddle (the day before you contacted me)-with directives to make changes. I was in the midst of working on it and you suddenly came along and "rejected" it! No fair! Give me a chance to at least make some of the corrections as instructed by Fiddle Faddle.OK? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.196.151.193 (talk) 00:55, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Your article was listed for reviewing and I therefore reviewed it. If you are going to make changes to an article whilst it is listed for reviewing, then you should have put up a notice to say that you were working on it at the time, or taking it off reviewing so that you could fix it. Resubmit the article with your changes. Also, on Wikipedia, we do not use credentials after every mention of Ronald J. Ross. st170etalk 16:19, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Deleting page

Hi, Thank you for responding to my change so quickly. The problem is I created the page myself and forgot my wiki password but wanted to delete it as it was silly of me to make a page about myself and it doesn't look good. I don't know how to delete it and just wanted someone to help me to do that please. The page in question is the Marcus Roberts actor page I made. Thank you for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.144.161.122 (talk) 20:35, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi. You can reset the password of the account you used to create the article and then request deletion. You can't do it any other way. st170etalk 20:37, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

Arturo Carsetti's page

Hi ! Thanks for your message. I put some references of Arturo Carsetti, I hope now you will not propose to delete the page. He is an important philosopher of sciences. Please let me know if I need to do something else to keep the page on the web. Best, Arcar40 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arcar40 (talkcontribs) 15:00, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

As long as a reference is added, the template can be removed from the page. I see it has already been removed, so this is now resolved! st170etalk 15:04, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
Hi again and many thanks for your fast reply, but I'm affraid I did not understand your message. Sorry about that. You said the page it has been removed? I can still find it on internet, so I do not understand what you mean. I put even more references and more information about the author, his philosophical position, etc. I hope it works please let me know if now is ok. Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arcar40 (talkcontribs) 15:23, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
Hi sorry for the confusion, my fault! I need to proof-read things before I post. The deletion notice on your page has been removed because you have added references, not the page. I put the deletion notice on your page because there were no references on it, but now that you have references on it, it has been removed. st170etalk 15:34, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
Many thanks ! Everything is clear now. Arcar40 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arcar40 (talkcontribs) 15:42, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

So please, delete the draft if is possible. Thanks Bnotepr (talk) 02:17, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Articles can only be deleted if they have been proposed for deletion or through an article for deletion discussion. They can also be speedily deleted if they meet one of the criteria. There is a speedy deletion criterion which states that if the article requests deletion, it may be deleted. However, you are not the author of the page and therefore cannot request deletion. This draft article does not have a big impact on Wikipedia. If no-one edits it for six months, it will be deleted anyway. st170etalk 15:39, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Firstly, I'd like to thank you very much to taking the time to review the article I wrote. I have made adequate changes to the article and thought it would be a good idea to get the thumbs up from you before I re-submit the article for review again.

·Removed "personal life" section as it was not referenced.

·Added a lot more brand new references all over the article of very recent press releases in international magazines.

·I would like to kindly point out that other dating coaches with much less media coverage than Kezia have been accepted on Wikipedia, such as Adam Lyons and Richard La Ruina who are less well known, both seem to have Wikipedia pages. Richard La Ruina: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_La_Ruina and Adam Lyons: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Lyons. They also have a lot less references in less-popular press releases.

·In response to your advice of adding more detail in the leading section to describe the significance of such subject, I have linked the words "dating coach" at the beginning to the official Wiki Article of a dating coach, which describes exactly what a dating coach is and explains what a dating coach officially does. For your reference, here is the Article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dating_coach. I thought it would be simpler to talk about Kezia only in the article, rather than go off topic and describe the meaning of a dating coach, and if anyone would be interested in finding out more about the topic then they can easily click on the "dating coach" words and find out everything they wish to know. I hope you agree.

Other than this, I really appreciate your time in reviewing my article and value your opinion, so please let me know your thoughts and do tell me if you think the article is ready for re-submission so that I can go ahead with it. Many thanks!

Kezia Noble article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Kezia_Noble Wiki.017 (talk) 22:11, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi, this article is definitely an improvement. However, it still wouldn't be approved because it is 'slightly' promotional in certain areas. If I get time, I will show you which sections need taking out because of promotion reasons. This article has been deleted twice in the past, which won't help it get past AfC Reviewers. I don't think it'd be fair for me to review the article so I will let another reviewer review it for a second opinion. It is definitely a better version than before. You've used the Daily Mail a few times in your article I see. You can't compare Kezia Noble to Adam Lyons or Richard La Ruina because, in the case of the latter, he is known for other things if you check his page. In Adam's case, there is a maintenance tag with a notability guideline warning, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid with this article. I'm not sure if this does pass notability guidelines, but if you resubmit it after removing the promotional material, then I'm sure another reviewer will have a second look. st170etalk 22:27, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
I've had a second look at your article and I've striked out everything that should be removed, or otherwise need more citations. st170etalk 22:30, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for that! I've removed all striked text, I will re-submit it now and let someone take a look at it. One final question: Do I remove your comments that you left when you reviewed it first time or it's ok to leave the comments there? Wiki.017 (talk) 12:23, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
Leave the comments there for other reviewers. st170etalk 21:22, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

Article review for Christopher Sweeney's page

Hi there,

Thanks for reviewing my article on director Chris Sweeney, here is the link incase you can't recall:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Christopher_Sweeney#Career

You said that in order for it to be accepted I would need to include more citations. How many more would you recommend?

Thanks, Ellen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ellenannecrane (talkcontribs) 13:20, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi Ellen. When citing, you must remember that it is quality not quantity, although you do need a fair amount of sources to establish notability and reliability. Try and get as many as you can that show significant coverage in order for the article to be accepted. Primary sources or sources that just mention the subject in passing won't count. st170etalk 21:45, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi St170e. I appreciate your eagerness to help with various administrative tasks such as vandalism and Articles for Creation. I wanted to let you know that when you archived some of the threads from Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects this week, it rather messes with my schedule of doing this, as I am the main coordinator for the page. If I ever need assistance with the archiving for some reason, I might let you know, however it is much easier for me if just left to one person. I'm not questioning her notability, there are a lack of reliable sources on this article. All of the sources are primary and are not enough to justify an article. Other reviewers would question notability and therefore you must have lots of sources which has significant coverage of her in order to be accepted. You may also consider splitting your article up into sections. st170etalk 13:27, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Help editing a recent article viewed by you

Hi ST170e,

Thanks for reviewing my article.

I would greatly appreciate it, if you can pin point the things that led you to say the article "SpotOption" sounds like an ad.

If I could better understand what to focus on, it will be easier for me to edit it to fit Wikipedia.

Many thanks in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.157.86.33 (talk) 10:35, 26 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, I'll surely help you with pinpointing things in Draft:SpotOption. This article is like other company articles that are produced through Articles for Creation. However, it does seem slightly promotional. 'What are Binary Options?' section isn't really encyclopaedic - does this article already exist on Wikipedia? The article should be kept strictly to the company only, but if there isn't an article on binary options then I would leave a brief summary on it. The section 'Regulation' is completely promotional 'SpotOption's products.... were developed specifically'. I believe there's an element of citation overkill on this article. I don't believe the significance of this company has been explained on the article. Plus, an element of conflict of interest exists with the page creator. st170etalk 16:24, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the prompt reply! There is an article on Binary Options, just thought it was relevant adding what it is. Will take down what you have suggested. What do you mean by the significance of the company needs to be explained? Wouldn't that be a bit of an ad then? Thanks again for the help, much appreciated!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.157.86.33 (talk) 07:00, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
You need to explain what the company has done that makes it significant. As long as it has neutral wording, then it would not be considered to be an ad. For example, Apple is significant because of its products around the world, Microsoft for its computers etc. Check out notability guidelines for companies at WP:NCORP. st170etalk 16:26, 27 October 2014 (UTC)

Question about an article reviewed by you

Hi, You declined an article I submitted as improperly sourced. Could you clarify if that just means that I formatted the citations incorrectly, or if the sources themselves are inadequate? Thanks! HappyListener (talk) 23:06, 28 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Sorry for the confusion. The sources in the article aren't formatted correctly and should be done so using REF tags. It also might be beneficial for you to add more sources for the next reviewer. st170etalk 01:34, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

29 October 2014: Request for Category:Visitor attractions in Kollam declined

Hi ST170e,

Category:Visitor attractions in Kollam and Category:Visitor attractions in Kollam District are actually for two different purposes. Kollam city is an important tourism city. A lot number of visitor attractions are there in the city limit itself. So I request you to create a separate category in the name, Category:Visitor attractions in Kollam. Arun 16:34, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Would the parent category be Kollam District? st170etalk 12:56, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I declined your draft article and I left a note at the top of the page in the red box. Here's a quote:

This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms, that are designed to promote or show-off the subject.

Your article is not written in a neutral and formal tone so please re-write your article accordingly. For example 'he is widely considered to be one of the finest stage and film actors' - this is completely promotional and is not compliant with Wikipedia's neutrality policy. Who says that he's a fine stage/film actor? Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a place where people can write fan articles! Fix this throughout your article. Also, there are notability issues with the article so please resolve these by adding a significant amount of reliable sources. st170etalk 17:19, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I wanted to know what exactly is the problem with the article Hossein Farhady that you want to delete it ? I had an interview with this man and i gathered all these information myself and really there were no source that i have used in order to write this article, but you can find similar information about him in the introduction of the books that i have included as the reference. I am writing in Persian wikipedia for 3 years and i think you don't need to delete any article which you think has a problem as soon as possible you can just tell me how to improve it and i will do it and this is how we do it in Persian wikipedia we help each other and even try to improve the article ourselves. Thank you Ariaveeg (talk) 06:32, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

I do tend to help out and help other Wikipedians by improving the article, but this article is not in my area of expertise. You posted this article into the main space, with full knowledge that any problems with the article would result in it being deleted. Your safer bet would have been to take it to Articles for Creation, where I am also a reviewer. Your article is about a man who is not notable. He hasn't done anything significant to be included on Wikipedia. You say you interviewed the man, where is the proof for this? We cannot take this article seriously without any proper sources that are reliable, it could be mere heresy. st170etalk 20:32, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

Consensus

Hello, Prior to you commenting on the Derry talk page there was a majority of 4 people who supported the proposed changes against 3 who opposed them. As it had been well over a month since the last comment I felt it was time to act on the vote however 3 additional accounts seem to now reject the proposals so I can understand why it should remain as is unless more people come out in support of it. Italay90 (talk) 16:43, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

I do understand why you did what you did, but there was no consensus on the talk page. There needs to be clear consensus. If that vote had of taken place at AfD, it would of been closed as no consensus. But the matter is resolved anyway. st170etalk 20:32, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

Articles for creation/Redirects

Hi, I was looking at the last two processed WP:AFC/R, and your reasons for declining the "Many letters with hooks" and "Eshopaholic.in" requests - neither made by me - do not appear to be 100% accurate. In reply to the former you wrote that target(s) were not specified or do not exist, but the requester added those in a collapse box. In reply to the latter you wrote that the title already exists on Wikipedia, but the requester tried to move a userspace draft into mainspace, and the target of the suggested redirect does not - no longer - exist. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 17:01, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I use an automatic tool to sift through requests and it appears that I accidentally rejected 'Many letters with hooks'. I will go back and undo the edit underneath this article since it was done by complete mistake. The Eshopaholic.in redirect was rejected because the target and the redirect page were both the same. I didn't move it into the main space because I believe that it would be nominated for speedy deletion without hesitation. st170etalk 17:28, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
Well, you are not alone. ;) Probably doesn't matter, those requested redirects looked like unlikely searches. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 01:49, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews

Hello St170e. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).
