Ways to improve Coopmans's tyrannulet[edit]

Hi, I'm Nick Moyes. Spizaetus, thanks for creating Coopmans's tyrannulet!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I can't see the details on this species on the cited reference. Can you supply any others, please. An IUCN entry could be helpful, too

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Papuan flycatcher listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Papuan flycatcher. Since you had some involvement with the Papuan flycatcher redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. PamD 21:45, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Undid change to species name redirect Cyanocorax yncas[edit]

I reverted your change to a species name redirect Cyanocorax yncas because your new link went to the wrong species. Green Jay begins "The green jay (Cyanocorax luxuosus) ...". Inca Jay begins "The Inca jay (Cyanocorax yncas) ...". Any idea why you made the change back, um, two years ago? Shenme (talk) 16:47, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Owls - is a group of owls a "Parliament" or a "Group" ?[edit]

Hi Spizaetus. You recently changed the caption on my image "Parliament of four Tawny Frog-mouthed Owls" to "Group of four tawny frogmouths" on page [1]. Any reason for this? I believe "Parliament" is the correct term for a group of owls. See page [2]. Perhaps you can explain the reason you think "Group" is correct and remove the word "owls". Perhaps you don't class them as true owls??? You're probably right! Anway, I am forever curious. I took the photo of the tawny's in my palm trees, they lived up there for 4-5 years but have since moved on. Please forgive my links to references but I am still on L-plates here! Best regards. NorthRyder (talk) 04:23, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NorthRyder! You're right that parliament is the correct term for a group of owls. However, despite their superficially similar appearance and nocturnal lifestyle, tawny frogmouths aren't actually owls, which is why I removed "owls" and replaced "parliament" with the more generic term "group". Among Australian birds, the closest relatives of frogmouths are nightjars and swifts, while owls are more closely related to hawks/eagles/kites, kingfishers and allies, falcons, parrots, and songbirds. Best, Spizaetus (talk) 18:22, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Spizaetus! Thank you very much for correcting this and taking the time to explain it to me. Grtz! NorthRyder (talk) 04:08, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Malayan tapir[edit]

Howdy - I've just been browsing the literature and databases on Malayan tapir, and it looks to me as if Acrocodia is the currently accepted genus. Apparently this is based on Ungulate Taxonomy (Groves and Grubb 2011). I have just updated the article accordingly. I noticed that back in the day you set up a redirect from Acrocodia indica, as a synonym. Are you aware of anything more definite / current on this point?
