Sonybmgmasterworks external links[edit]

Hi Softlord. I notice you have been adding links to your company's website to a lot of articles. While the link may be appropriate on some or even all of those articles, we ask editors to refrain from adding links to websites to which they are connected so as to avoid problems with a conflict of interest. See our external links guidelines for more detail on this. Please put future links to your site on an article's talk page and ask other editors to review the link and add it if they believe it is appropriate. Thanks. -- Siobhan Hansa 22:42, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gah. Okay, not meant as COI at all, as the sites linked to are meant to be more informational than commercial... I just submittted a bunch, will continue in the talk sections going forward.

"Magic Notes" vs. "Walking Eye"[edit]

Hi, Softlord. As you work for Sony BMG, I'm wondering if you're familiar with Sony Music's 1990s dilemma which is mentioned in the Columbia Records and Columbia Graphophone Company articles. When Sony bought the rights to the Columbia Records trademarks (including the "Magic Notes" logo) from EMI, Sony renamed the CBS Records label to Columbia. Previously, EMI's Columbia label used the "Magic Notes" while the CBS Records label used the "Walking Eye." For much of the 1990s, Columbia Records releases bore no logo. Eventually the "Walking Eye" prevailed. Am I correct with this story? Steelbeard1 23:54, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
