The article Bebejan has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sorry for the inconvenience, Skycloud86. This article is no longer proposed for deletion. It would still be great if you could add references, though! Thanks, Melchoir (talk) 19:44, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, and I'll try and find some. I mostly used the German one and Google Translate to get an idea of what the German article said. Skycloud86 (talk) 18:20, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Jaime Ravinet. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?[edit]

Hi Skycloud86, You recently received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, some of your recent edits have been reverted as they could be seen to be defamatory or potentially libellous. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The article David James Bowen has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Hello! Thanks for adding deaths to their respective months' lists. Could you please format 1 reference per death as a bare ref? E.g. <ref>[url title] {{in lang|language abbreviation if not in English}}</ref> Thanks, Star Garnet (talk) 15:21, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome and sure! Skycloud86 (talk) 15:22, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And each death should have a reference. Star Garnet (talk) 15:41, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'll remember that, there seems to be no references sometimes on the articles. Skycloud86 (talk) 15:44, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. A pretty big benefit of the Deaths in X pages is that they help ensure that there are legitimate references for deaths. So when you encounter pages without a death reference, you can either leave them for somebody else to deal with, or you can find a reference, and add it to both the article and to the Deaths in X page. Star Garnet (talk) 15:51, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's also a good idea to visit the link, both to see that it still works, and to make sure that it actually confirms the person's death/date. Star Garnet (talk) 15:58, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article Abdallah Salamé Zureikat has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please stop changing date formats for biographies for persons from nations that are not English-speaking. I think you don't understand MOS:DATETIES which says "Articles on topics with strong ties to a particular English-speaking country should generally use the date format most commonly used in that nation." Normally MOS:DATERETAIN applies, and in order to change a date format the topic must have strong ties to a particular English-speaking country. Hungary, Norway, etc. are not English-speaking countries. Stop making wholesale date format changes, please. Quale (talk) 04:09, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
Thanks for the message, but I have questions about some of these changes. Some I changed, such as Serhii Kamyshev, because there was a mix of date formats in the article.
There are some you reverted that did meet DATERETAIN - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adesope_Olajide, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_Abilla, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisi_Adegbuyi and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adelusi_Adeluyi. Three of these people are from Nigeria, which is an English speaking country - English is the official language. The other is Kenyan, where English is also an official language. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qazi_Fazlullah_Ubaidullah is Pakistani - English is an official language there also.

Listas?[edit]

When you made this edit, what does that do? I don't know what "listas" means. Joyous! | Talk 15:58, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I added his name in the listas parameter which sorts names into alphabetical order. John Carden Wolfe, for example, will be listed under Wolfe rather than John. Skycloud86 (talk) 16:06, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

about use dmy dates template[edit]

hello. i read Template:Use dmy dates, but i don't understand exact function of this template. you done this ,but when we use this template? do we do it for all new articles? would you please explain it a little more and clear? best regards. Miha2020 (talk) 15:36, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
It means that any dates put into the article should be in dmy format. It's not used for all articles, as some will use the mdy format (articles about Americans, for example). Best regards. Skycloud86 (talk) 15:43, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Billy Valentine[edit]

Hi @Skycloud86:, I'm not sure you've scooped the correct information on Billy Valentine. This appears to be Valentine's WWII record and it says he was born in Birmingham, Alabama as William A. Valentine on December 16, 1925. What evidence do we have that William Emil Valentine (different person) was in fact him? Thanks Jkaharper (talk) 20:49, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for bringing it up. I've mis-read the date on the draft card for William Emil Valentine, so it's not the same person. Skycloud86 (talk) 20:53, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"List as"[edit]

Hi there, Skycloud86, and thank you for your interest in Nina Malterud. You may think this is a strange question but I would just like to ask you why you added the "list as" details, specifically "listas=Malterud, Nina", to the WikiProject Biography details on the article's talk page. I see from your contributions that you devote a substantial amount of your editing time to adding such details to biographies. In the early days of Wikipedia, there may well have been a need to provide a basis for ordering wikiproject pages related to biographies in alphabetical order on the basis of the surname or family name in order to encourage further work on the article by other editors. Indeed, this approach was used not just for WP Biography but for all related wikiprojects (and I see some editors continue to apply it to those too). I spend quite a bit of my editing time reviewing and evaluating biographies but I have never found it useful to refer to such family-name listings. Most of the missing assessment listings I access actually list biographies on the basis of the title, i.e. the first name of the person in question. If I need to find listings based on family names, I can find them from appropriate categories which are based on Defaultsort from the article itself. I was wondering if you know of any specific uses editors make of the family name listings or if you just add the details because you think they ought to be there, perhaps being prompted by templates. I'm asking about this as I think it might be more useful for you (and other "list as" contributors) to be using your editing time for more helpful tasks. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 21:03, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
Thanks for the message, I mainly do it to help clear out the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Biography_articles_without_listas_parameter. At one point, it contained thousands of articles.

Request re: listas[edit]

Hello! I have a request. You may or may not realize that you are incorrectly using "listas" for articles about drag queens. For example, you've used "Chuchi, Drag" as the "listas" for Drag Chuchi. In this case, "Chuchi" is not a true last name. If you look at Category:RuPaul's Drag Race contestants, for example you will see entries sorted by first name because most of their "full names" are not actually first and last names. Please keep this in mind when updating the talk pages about drag performers. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:10, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
Thanks for letting me know, I was treating the name as if it was first name + last name but I'll remember to keep this in mind next time. Skycloud86 (talk) 10:42, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:45, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Name Brepta or Brebta ?[edit]

Do you think that all Czech sources give the wrong name of Miloslav Brepta and the only Olympic one has it correctly Miloslav Brebta? Ltosnar (talk) 07:42, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
I've changed it back to Brepta. Usually there's no discrepancy between Olympedia and other sources when it comes to names, I'm not sure why Olympedia has Brebta. Skycloud86 (talk) 09:46, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject tagging[edit]

Hi there, thank you for all your contributions. I noticed you're doing a lot of WikiProject tagging and wanted to let you know the |listas= parameter should ideally now go in the banner shell rather than the WikiProject Biography tag. It's not a big deal as it's something the bots will fix in due course anyway. I just wanted to make sure you're aware. Thanks. -Kj cheetham (talk) 15:06, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You're very welcome and thanks for letting me know.
Skycloud86 (talk) 16:01, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Skycloud86 please could I also ask you to be more careful when adding banner shells. For example in https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AEllinor_Hinks&diff=1210833724&oldid=1208217361 you corrupted it. The |1= must go just before the WikiProject tags, after the other banner shell parameters. It looks like this has happened various times, please could you fix them? -Kj cheetham (talk) 18:38, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, and I've edited the ones where I added the banner shell. I think that's the only ones which were corrupted. Skycloud86 (talk) 20:56, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Keep up the good work overall! -Kj cheetham (talk) 20:33, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
