edits to My Little Pony[edit]

Hi Simeon, I'm sorry that you felt my edit was not constructive. I disagree. I think people not familiar with horses may not know that shaggy hair on legs is called feather or feathering, and may believe these ponies actually have feathers, which of course they don't. I hope you will reconsider my edit in the name of clarity. Tx. 108.18.189.241 (talk) 14:18, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I apologize a lot. I must have removed your editing by mistake. I have now corrected it. Have a continued good day. Greetings Simeondahl (talk) 14:22, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

what is rollback and how can I get it?

Hi there. "Rollback" a feature that allows me to remove edits to the current user. You can read more about here at Wikipedia: Rollback, it is primarily designed for users that removes much vandalism. Then there is something called "Global Roll Back" but it's something a bit different. This means that you have "Rollback" rights on all Wikis. But in answer to how you get it, then you start to create a user. So start to familiarize yourself with reglerene on this Wikipedia, and things like that. So, start by removing vandalism, or other vandalism to show you know how it works. Once you have done for some time then you can apply for it. It is only given to people who know reglerene and is active. But you can start now and then if you learn everything you'll probably get it at a tidsponkt :) If you have more questions then just sprøg. Have a continued good day. Greetings Simeondahl (talk) 16:52, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer[edit]

Hello, following a review of your contributions, I have enabled reviewer rights on your account. This gives you the ability to:

  • Accept changes on pages undergoing pending changes,
  • Have your changes automatically accepted on pending changes level 2 protected pages, and
  • Administrate article feedback.

Please remember that this user right:

  • Can be removed at any time for misuse, and
  • Does not grant you any special status above other editors.
You should probably also read WP:PROTECT, since this user privilege deals largely with page protection. As the requirements for this privilege are still in a state of flux, I would encourage you to keep up to date on the WP:REVIEWER page. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions! Happy editing! Removing Content[edit]

Yes I removed content on White Terror. The article is a hopelessly biased piece of Bolshevik propaganda, and an editor claims possession and refuses modest incremental improvement. Best to start fresh. cwmacdougall 20.21, 5 November 2012

Yes., it might be is bad, but we dos not delete an entire article because it is bad. You can for example. change it, add more or start from scratch. Its fine. The article should probably be corrected by the users who come by. Have a continued good day. Greetings Simeondahl (talk) 20:29, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I tried modest amendments which an editor refused, and appealing to the NPOV and Russia groups. I have now filed a complaint on the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard. cwmacdougall 23:26, 5 November 2012

Re : Potential RfA[edit]

Thanks for your message. You've just received reviewer permissions not too long ago, I thought you might use more time and experience with it for now before trying for adminship. With more experience over time, you will stand a better chance at passing RfA. - Mailer Diablo 10:20, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

CSD tagging: slow it down a bit[edit]

Hey, Simeon! Just wanted to talk about your tagging of Hook Junior School a bit. First of, it's not a big deal, but A3 (no content) would probably be a slightly better choice of tag than A1 for this kind of thing. A3 explicitly covers articles that only contain a repeat of their title, so it fits a bit better, and A1 is a pretty overused (and misused) tag. Again, no worries; the tag wasn't wrong per se; just keep it in mind. Second, for both A1 and A3 tags, it's better to wait some time before putting them on an article. Some people have been known to create articles slowly; they might create the page first, then add a little bit at a time. So it's better to give them the time to do so before putting a speedy deletion tag on it. 10 or 15 minutes is the minimum standard, but more time is better; after all, these articles won't hurt anything by sitting around for another half-hour. This is good policy for other tags too, like A7 (no significance), though of course there are always cases where it doesn't help. Anyway, no big deal; just thought I'd check in and drop a few thoughts here. Thanks! Writ Keeper 17:24, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I put a template on when something was on before he deleted it. But I'll wait a bit to take sides;) Thanks for your message. --Simeondahl (talk) 17:26, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You were going to get back to this right? You patrolled it and it is nowhere near completion. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 18:17, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback deployment[edit]

Hey Simeondahl; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. On Thursday and Friday the tool will be down for a major deployment; it should be up by Saturday, failing anything going wrong, and by Monday if something does :). File rename requests[edit]

Thanks Simeondahl. I've submitted rename request for most of my uploads (8 files). Thanks again for your help. Zyma (talk) 16:26, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome :) I have renamed them all for you. If you need more files moved, just request them, or levae me a message ;) Have a nice day sir. --Simeondahl (talk) 16:29, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notify request[edit]

Hi Simeondahl. If one of the my rename requests is not clear or I didn't write clear reason(s), please notify me on my talk page. I will correct them or remove the request if necessary. Good contributions by you. Cheers. Zyma (talk) 14:03, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, don't worry, I have only found one that did not need rename :) Good work with the file move requests! :) --Simeondahl (talk) 14:30, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Which one? Address of file? I only submit necessary ones despite there are many files with bad names but acceptable names per WP file name guide. Zyma (talk) 14:45, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize very much, it was my mistake. The file I meant was: File:Fantasia SEOY.jpg (now: Fantasia Side Effects of You.jpg) - But it is now moved. --Simeondahl (talk) 14:53, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, but please if you are not sure about a file, ask me or the other editors about it. And maybe some of my submits include unwanted error/incorrect details. For example, an incorrect move reason or a bad suggested file name. For this cases, notify me before doing the renaming action or if you want to revert problematic requests. It will help me to decrease my mistakes in the future requests. I just involved in file renaming recently, so I'm new on File namespace. Just some uploads before, but not other contributions like file renaming. I like it. A new experience. Good luck. Regards. Zyma (talk) 15:38, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Of course I move only when I'm sure :) It was also why I did not move it at the giving stage. But I will contact you if I am not sure the reason you give;) You must have a continued good day and just made several requests, it helps Wikipedia very much :) --Simeondahl (talk) 16:15, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hej Simeon. Back in July this year you changed a file link in the infobox of Abrahadabra (album). This has now caused some confusion because the same non-free image is shown twice. Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews[edit]

Hello SimmeD. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Counter-Vandalism Academy: New student[edit]

Dear Simeondahl — I have recently been promoted as a pending changes review, but I am really interested in getting to be a rollbacker on Wikipedia. However, I feel like I need some more training with removing vandalism from Wikipedia, and came to the Counter-Vandalism Academy to get training from top anti-vandalism experts, and your in my time zone. I am requesting that you become my anti-vandalism teacher, and teach me the ways of removing vandalism, and tips, so I can be ready to take on the role of a rollbacker. I am ready to train when you are, and I am very excited for this new journey on Wikipedia. Hopefully, we will discuss this possibility very soon! By the way, I live in Oregon, PDT. Cheers, lets talk soon! CookieMonster755 (talk) 17:53, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, of course. Are you able to download a program called TeamSpeak 3, and join a server that I own? - It will make easy to train. --Simeondahl (talk) 19:18, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
