Cleaned up[edit]

User:Shalmani, we have given you a lot of time and space but there has to be a limit. I have cleaned up the article on Shilmani, removing all the bias, original research and personal opinions. If you want to boast about your tribe, kindly do it on your personal website at iwarp.com, but not here. If you want to include the idea that a mountain in Egypt is linked to a man in Libya and a river in Iran and to your tribe, then you will need a reliable source. Please note that your own website does not count as a reliable source, and neither does a discussion forum for Jewish names. If you look at that website (hebrewsurnames.com), you will see that they clearly notify readers that they are not an academic or scientific website and that everything on their website is purely "to express and discuss the familiar traditions". I strongly suggest you click on each of the links in the previous sentences and read thoroughly about why your approach to editing is unacceptable. If you wish to make a positive contribution, please feel free to edit within the guidelines. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talkpage. Thank you for your message on my talkpage. Basically all Wikipedia editors must abide by three simple rules:
I would also recommend you stop adding non-English text because as this is English Wikipedia, so we do not need so much of it here. Green Giant (talk) 02:31, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help me[edit]

Please anybody

in Shilmani article to make it complying with Wikipedia guidlines. I hope for your highlights and proper guidlines. I have to save my article and need your help.

I have searched for reliable sources for Shilmani and have found a small number, which you could use in the article:
  • Pete Heiden (2012). "Pakistan". ABDO Publishing Company. p. 75. - which mentions the tribe as being part of the tribal areas;
  • Christian Tripodi (2011). "Edge of Empire: The British Political Officer and Tribal Administration on the North-West Frontier 1877-1947". Ashgate Publishing. p. 206. - which mentions a telegram sent by the Shilmani and other tribes during World War 2;
  • H.A. Rose (1997). "A Glossary of the Tribes and Castes of the Punjab and North-West Frontier Province". Nirmal Publishers. - which describes an early 20th century view of the tribe
  • "A Glossary of the Tribes & Castes of the Punjab & North-west Frontier Province: Based on the Census Report for the Punjab, 1883, by the Late Sir Denzil Ibbetson ... & the Census Report for the Punjab, 1892, by Sir Edward Maclagan ... & Comp. by H.A. Rose". Superintendent, government printing, Punjab. 1914. - which is based on the above book
  • "Tribe: Mohmand" (PDF). U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. - which mentions the Shilman valley
This should be enough to get the article on the right track, and hopefully there will be more. Green Giant (talk) 17:48, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Shalmani, I am responding to your request for help. You might also consider reaching out to a relevant WikiProject. WikiProjects usually contain interested editors familiar with a particular umbrella of subjects, for example, you could ask for assistance at Wikipedia talk:Notice board for Pakistan-related topics. Hope that helps. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:31, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Need Some More Help[edit]

Thank you so much for finding the reliable sources for Shilmani Article.

Please help me in answering the following.

  • If I use some lines from these sources, I mean cut and paste, and then give reference to that source from my article. Then it will not be against any copy rights of that source.?
  • I want to be sure with my article grammar quality. What should I do?
  • Please give me an example of giving reference and citation to a reliable source. May I call reference or citation or both to the following;

Christian Tripodi (2011). "Edge of Empire: The British Political Officer and Tribal Administration on the North-West Frontier 1877-1947". Ashgate Publishing. p. 206. - which mentions a telegram sent by the Shilmani and other tribes during World War 2;

Thanks a bunch to Green Giant and Cyphoidbomb!

  • I would avoid directly copying and pasting. Instead, try to rewrite it so that you convey the idea but not the exact words. As for citations/references, you can use all of them as citations; I have already put them into a citation template, so all you need to do is write some text followed by <ref>, then add everything between the {{cite web and the final }} followed by </ref>. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sleeper Mattresses and Bedding Company, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
