Nintendo task force membership update

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on October 1, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, MuZemike 17:58, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Removal of PROD from Jovi

Hello Sesu Prime, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Jovi has been removed. It was removed by 75.50.55.93 with the following edit summary '(WP:JNN)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with 75.50.55.93 before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Thank you, SDPatrolBot (talk) 01:14, 2 September 2009 (UTC) (Learn how to opt out of these messages)

re:MissingNo.'s successful FAC

Yeah, I saw your edit but I was puzzled because the FAC wasn't updated, so I reverted it. Then I did some more investigating and saw it was added to the FA list so I undid my edit. Apologies, Artichoker[talk] 02:51, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

My edit was valid. Surely the burden of proof is on you to find the word used and not merely mentioned; see w:Use-mention distinction, and note that Wiktionary removed its entry to an appendix of what are essentially nonwords. 86.164.188.106 (talk) 21:10, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, and how am I supposed to prove that the word has been mentioned, not used? I can find plenty of mentions, but they don't prove the negative that it hasn't been used! 86.164.188.106 (talk) 21:30, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Block fail

Hi- I removed the block message and unblocked you. IT WAS ENTIRELY BY ACCIDENT, and was certainly worth shouting about. I was trying to block an IP, User:174.46.60.126, and you were the most recent diff on the page. So I must have hit the "block Sesu Prime" button instead of "block 174.46.60.126". Please accept my apologies, and know that I am in your debt for making such a mistake. tedder (talk) 04:44, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

And there we go again. I did it on the same page, and made sure I hit the correct 'block' button. Well, it blocked you again. I owe you again, and it makes me look that much dumber. tedder (talk) 04:47, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Hey, Tedder. I just want you to know that there are no hard feelings over this incident. It was an honest mistake. Cheers! -sesuPRIME 19:36, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Game Informer, October 2006

Apparently you own the October 2006 issue of Game Informer. I need the review to add to Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. I don't know if it's legal to transcribe an entire review in a talk page conversation or email, so if you can find the issue, just give me some memorable quotes (particularly in the areas of the characters and cutscenes' "adorable"ness and "cute"ness, difficulty, or the Game Boy Advance or DS versions). I also need the review score, the name of the author, and the issue number. Thanks, by the way. Tezkag72 (talk) 22:24, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Pokemon Red and Blue guide

I'm hitting up User:Guyinblack25 with this as well, but your copy of Nintendo's Pokemon Red and Blue guide...does it refer to the protagonist as Ash? I read recently that early prints did before changing it to basically a generic trainer and want to confirm that.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:34, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Not so much after 100% reliable in this case, just wanted something to show that it was a promoted name for the character by Nintendo until they renamed him Red in G/S/C. It's a lot better than the way a lot of articles come across, implying that he was always presented as "Red" (and makes having the article be called Ash Ketchum work a lot easier).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 10:45, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Re: Image queries

I see what you mean with the Atlus logo, but I myself am unsure as to why it is displaying differently; I usually never export SVGs for web graphics, so I'm not the one to ask... As for SVG logos, if its ineligible for copyright, it's fine for commons. I'm generally ambivalent about moving all these logos to commons however because the threshold of originality is a very muddled subject and I think we're better off on the safe side treating these as possible non-free, but I'm in a minority on that point. That page is probably somebody's idea of a sandbox. It hadn't been worked on in almost a year. I'll see if I can't find a precedent for putting some kind of "inactive editor" template on it. Nintendo task force membership update

Hello,

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months (though it's been actually 6 months since the last one) to keep our membership up-to-date.

After 1 month, on 1 April 2010, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Reference Library Request

Hi Sesu Prime,
I noticed your name listed as a possible resource for Nintendo Power articles through the VP:VG Reference Library.
I was hoping you could possibly make a scan for me of NP Issue#225 (Feb 2008) (cover story: Sonic RPG). From what I understand there is a tidbit about the BS-X Broadcast Satellaview under their article on imports. I believe the article is entitled "History's Hidden Hardware." I just need a scan of this one item. I think it's somewhere around p.60. Thanks in advance, -Thibbs (talk) 18:29, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:31, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

samus pic

we should definitely put that second picture up. its way better, to replace both. I like the look of her Varia suit of course... but... that pic is nice and shows her iconic suit look, shows both forms, and would look good on the page. Plus its the newest rendition of samus from Nintendo, so why not? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magicbologna (talkcontribs) 02:46, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Romanization for words of English origin

On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).

Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.

One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.

What this invitation is:

  • You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.

What this invitation is not:

  • This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
  • This is not a vote on compromises either.

It would be highly appreciated if you came over to the MOS:JP talk page and helped find a solution. Thank you in advance. Prime Blue (talk) 11:38, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

You see, I'm developing an article for the Pokemon Deoxys, and am working on obtaining more sources for it. Your help is appreciated. Tezero (talk) 00:23, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the scans. I haven't gotten around to using all of them yet. Tezero (talk) 23:07, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to God of War III, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. -sesuPRIME 13:18, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

I've never heard of God Of War III.

You shouldn't bother to castigate plain IP address changes, they are invariable transistory, and don't bother replying to this because I probably won't see it ever again.

Nihongo template usage (re:)

Well, I've been adding the Nihongo template to the lead section of video game articles where I can find an example of that game having been released in Japan (as opposed to specifically having been developed in Japan). I can't find any link to a Wikipedia policy stating that usage is limited to game titles developed in Japan. If I do learn of such a policy, I would have no trouble with honoring it. :) Bumm13 (talk) 03:51, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry for the last-minute notice, but on Saturday, June 8, from 3 to 6 PM, Wikimedia DC and the Cato Institute are hosting a Legislative Data Meetup. We will discuss the work done so far by WikiProject U.S. Federal Government Legislative Data to put data from Congress onto Wikipedia, as well as what more needs to be done. I hope to see you there!

Hey SP—would you be able to pull the Deathrow review in the January 2003 Game Informer p.114 (and anything else related)? czar  05:05, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Nintendo Power

Would you be able to provide the review of Pokémon Channel in Nintendo Power issue 176, and if possible, any previews or features the magazine does on it? Not totally necessary, but would be appreciated if you're online anytime soon as the article's at FAC now and one user has said it'd be a good idea. Tezero (talk) 20:42, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

No worries. Thanks anyway. I almost got rid of my old issues myself at a garage sale last summer, but no one cared to buy them. Tezero (talk) 01:45, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
