Nintendo task force membership update
It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months to keep our membership up-to-date.
All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on October 1, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Pokemon Red and Blue guide
I'm hitting up User:Guyinblack25 with this as well, but your copy of Nintendo's Pokemon Red and Blue guide...does it refer to the protagonist as Ash? Not so much after 100% reliable in this case, just wanted something to show that it was a promoted name for the character by Nintendo until they renamed him Red in G/S/C. I see what you mean with the Atlus logo, but I myself am unsure as to why it is displaying differently; I usually never export SVGs for web graphics, so I'm not the one to ask... As for SVG logos, if its ineligible for copyright, it's fine for commons. I'm generally ambivalent about moving all these logos to commons however because the threshold of originality is a very muddled subject and I think we're better off on the safe side treating these as possible non-free, but I'm in a minority on that point. Fake facts
Hi,
recently I found this "article" in Wikipedia: [[3]] and because it is totally inaccurate and false information is provided, I deleted the articles. I suggest that you remove the whole page, in the interest of history :)
That page is probably somebody's idea of a sandbox. It hadn't been worked on in almost a year. I'll see if I can't find a precedent for putting some kind of "inactive editor" template on it. I noticed your name listed as a possible resource for Nintendo Power articles through the VP:VG Reference Library.
I was hoping you could possibly make a scan for me of NP Issue#225 (Feb 2008) (cover story: Sonic RPG). From what I understand there is a tidbit about the BS-X Broadcast Satellaview under their article on imports. I believe the article is entitled "History's Hidden Hardware." I just need a scan of this one item. I think it's somewhere around p.60.

Romanization for words of English origin
On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).
Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.
One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.
What this invitation is:
You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.
What this invitation is not:
This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
This is not a vote on compromises either.

Smithsonian Institution Archives Edit-a-Thon and Meetup!

She Blinded Me with Science: Smithsonian Women in Science Edit-a-Thon will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Smithsonian Archives in Washington, D.C. This edit-a-thon will focus on improving and writing Wikipedia content about women from the Smithsonian who contributed to the sciences. It will be followed by a happy hour meetup!

Nihongo template usage (re:)
Well, I've been adding the Nihongo template to the lead section of video game articles where I can find an example of that game having been released in Japan (as opposed to specifically having been developed in Japan). I can't find any link to a Wikipedia policy stating that usage is limited to game titles developed in Japan. If I do learn of such a policy, I would have no trouble with honoring it. :) Bumm13 (talk) 03:51, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Webinar / edit-a-thon at the National Library of Medicine (NLM)
Join us at the NLM next week, either in person or online, to learn about NLM resources, hear some great speakers, and do some editing!
On Tuesday, 28 May there will be a community Wikipedia meeting at the United States National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland - with a second on Thursday, 30 May for those who can't make it on Tuesday. You can participate either in-person, or via an online webinar. If you attend in person, USB sticks (but not external drives) are ok to use.

I'm sorry for the last-minute notice, but on Saturday, June 8, from 3 to 6 PM, Wikimedia DC and the Cato Institute are hosting a Legislative Data Meetup. We will discuss the work done so far by WikiProject U.S. Federal Government Legislative Data to put data from Congress onto Wikipedia, as well as what more needs to be done. Would you be able to provide the review of Pokémon Channel in Nintendo Power issue 176, and if possible, any previews or features the magazine does on it?
