Image copyright problem with Image:Ratdog.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ratdog.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 02:53, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Ratdog.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ratdog.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Chowbok 18:14, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blog / blacklist request[edit]

What's the relevance of the blog, please? Is it a reliable source for some information in the article? A reply on my Talk will be seen quicker than a reply here. Guy (Help!) 18:22, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kurów on Cherokee wiki/Kurów w czirokeskiej Wikipedii[edit]

Hi! Could you please write a stub http://chr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w - just a few sentences based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w or PL wiki? Only 2-5 sentences enough. Please.

PS. Article about Kurów is already on 134 languages. If you do that, please put interwiki link into English version. Pietras1988 20:39, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

PS. Artykuł o Kurowie jest aktualnie w 134 językach. Jeśli możesz, proszę Cię o dodanie interwika do czirokeskiego hasła w anglojęzycznej Wikipedii. Pietras1988 21:40, 9 marca 2007

I apologize but my knowledge is still too rudimentary for a task like that. Seelie 16:05, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hostel 2[edit]

so whatre you going to say when this is how the movie plays out?

3 beautiful college women are tricked into entering a hostel where the 'hosts' sell them to a twisted business company where their clients find gratification in rape, murder, and cannibalism. Following a geographical tour of Slovakia, three women are lured into a hostel by a beautiful young woman whom they met the day before in an art class. The 3 women are separated at a party and rounded up one by one in order to "fulfill" the company's contracts. The Protagonist in the story buys her way out of her fate and turns her anger upon the young woman who lured them into the shadows. In addition, one of the planned revelations will be that the Slovak location is part of a chain, viewers will also learn the operating procedures of this business through a clever series of auction like bidding.

If you want to add in the other stuff, do it. But until the official release date, there should be cited sources for verifiability. Seelie 02:21, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We're going to be having our first Mississippi meetup next month, and I would love it if you'd like to come out! A few of us will be staying overnight, so if you feel up to it, we could have a meet and greet that night and then breakfast the next morning and talk about Wikipedia and everyone's areas of expertise. Let's show 'em how it's done Southern-style! Mike H. Fierce! 22:18, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Campus Ambassadors wanted in Troy, Alabama[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian in Alabama. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors to help with Wikipedia assignments at Troy University, which will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester. The role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

I know Alabama is a big state, but if you happen to live near Troy and you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone else from Troy who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 16:16, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
