Willmore conjecture[edit]

An analogous case of unpublished proof (in peer-reviewed journals): professor Kaida Shi of Zhejiang University announced a "proof" of Fermat's Last Theorem in 2003, but it's not considered correct by his peers, so there is only the preprint as it was never published in any journal, and almost no one would dare to say that he gave a proof of it. Agreed. I just took the freedom of moving the reference [4] to the first half of the sentence. (It is a reference for Schmidt's proof, not for the fact that the proof has not been published in a peer-reviewed journal.) Sebastian Klein (talk) 08:37, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
